"Allyana?"

Napa angat ang mukha ko sa harapan at naningkit ang mga mata kong tinitigan ang isang magandang babae.

"Indira?" Lumapit siya sa'kin saka niyakap at beneso ako. "Ikaw nga!"

"Ako nga!" She smile widely and she look at my gown. "You look fabulous as ever Allyana! Wala kang pinagbago."

Tumawa lang ako saka kumuha ng red wine sa naka antabay na waiter. Indira Aragon is my classmate before in New York University. We are both a Psychology student until she transferred to Columbia to change her course. She is now a great doctor in Neurology!

Hindi ko alam na sa lahat ng taong makakasalamuha ko ngayong gabi ay makikita ko siya dito. The event for tonight is the prestigious Gawad Parangal ng mga Kabataan para sa mga tao na binibigyan nilang pugay sa mga nagawa for humanitarian act.

"Ikaw din naman! I didn't know you're here. Kailan ka lang dumating?" Tanong ko at sumimsim ng wine.

"Last week lang. My parents are one of the sponsors of this event that's why I'm here. How about you? You're here for good? The last time I heard about you from our common friends is that you went to Africa?" Aniya saka sumimsim din ng wine.

"That was last year. I went back to New York after that. I came back here since it's my grandfather's request and I'm also one of the recipient for the young category award."

Her eyes widened. "Oh! Congrats! You didn't tell me right away!" Sabay tawa niya.

Ngumiti lang ako. I actually don't want to brag but since nag tanong siya e sinagot ko lang.

How long has it been? Eight years? Ang tagal na din simula noong huli kong punta dito. I was nineteen that time. Nang umalis ako sa Pilipinas to live in New York ay madami ng nangyari at nag bago sa'kin.

Right after I land in New York, my Mom explained to me why she was gone away for too long. She told me about all my grandfather's lies about her. Hindi pala totoong iniwan niya ako para manlalaki at magpakasasa sa buhay. Ang totoo pala ay pinalayas siya ni lolo at tinanggalan ng karapatan para maging ina sa'kin. The reason behind that is because of my dad's death. Siya ang sinisisi ni lolo sa pagkamatay ni daddy. My grandfather believe that she was cheating on dad that's why my dad went for abroad at no'ng bumalik ay naaksidente sa airplane crash. But it was all not true. Dad went for abroad because he wants us to live there. Gusto niyang mag migrate kami dahil maraming magandang opportunity ang naghihintay samin doon.

After my dad died and my mom was thrown out of the mansion, she work hard to earn money so in time ay mabawi niya ako kay lolo. Namasukan siyang sales lady sa isang sikat na make up store sa isang malaking mall. Hindi kasi siya nakapagtapos ng College nang ipagbuntis niya ako ng maaga hanggang sa magpakasal sila ni daddy.

Habang namamasukan siya as sales lady ay may nakilala siyang foreigner. At first she reject him until Mom found herself falling in love for the second time around at nagpakasal sila. She didn't know at first that she married a millionaire until dinala siya ng napangasawa niya, si Tito Mike, sa America. They build a home but they didn't have children since hindi magka anak si Tito Mike. But their marriage was a happy one until Tito Mike's death came along. He succumb to his death due to lung cancer. After that, Mom was the only heiress to all of Tito Mike's asset. Wala kasing ibang ka-anak si Tito Mike bukod sa only son siya at matagal narin namatay ang mga magulang nito.

Mom then went to finish her college degree and continue managing the company that Tito Mike left for her. When she went back to the Philippines, that's when she found out about our situation. She contacted lolo as soon as she heard the news. Lolo ask forgiveness to her for all his mistakes. Napaka buting tao ni Mommy dahil hindi siya nag dalawang isip na patawarin agad si lolo. Even if she was hurt so bad, mas pinili niya ang magpatawad at mag move on. We all reconciled and we now became one happy family.
