Sorry I'm a day late.  Couldn't get online yesterday, but I'm here now.  Anywho, I just love that word, I thought we needed a few problems to start now.  Won't be too long until there's some real trouble in paradise, just be patient.

When I wake up, Ko is staring at me.

"Yay! You're awake! I've been up for hours!"

Can I go back to sleep?

Gaara kisses me on the nose and it strikes me how much of a family it seems now.

Kankuro and Temari have an actual relationship with Gaara now.

I don't have to second guess everything I do.

Gaara's so much more loving now.

And Ko is everyone's favorite boy.

Stretching, my back cracks twice.

I stand up, Ko on my hip.

Gaara walks beside me as we make our way downstairs.

After I make breakfast, I look to Gaara, wondering about my scedule.

"You're planning the wedding again today."

Will it ever stop?

"When is my next actual mission?"

He smirks softly.

"When the wedding's over. Can't risk you getting captured before that."

I roll my eyes as Kankuro whirls down the stairs.

"Food!"

Sighing, I shove a plate at him.

Ko laughs, and Kankuro sweeps him up and tosses him in the air.

My eyes narrow as Gaara's widen.

I hear a gasp from Temari at the top of the stairs, just as Kankuro catches him with a puppet string.

Ko is silent for a moment, before shrieking with laughter.

We all relax and continue our tasks.

If he had hurt Ko...

As all mothers are, nekos are very protective of their children.

We just have those teeth, and claws, and our tail, almost another limb.

I guess Ko is my cub now.

But eventually, I won't be able to take him with me...

Or do I need to protect him?

Maybe I will.

Temari sighs, settling next to me tiredly.

"So what are we-"

"Coffee."

I sigh, handing her a mug.

She takes a deep drink of it, grinning.

"We're dealing with your cake and flowers today."

I nod, but a moving shadow catches my eye, outside the window.

My eyes flick over there subtly.

I see a pair of eyes, but I don't know who's.

And then they're gone, and I focus back on Temari's chattering.

XXX

Temari practiacally dragged me into her bedroom, tossing magazines of flowers and pastries at me.

"You need to have white flowers, but that's to traditional on it's own so I was thinking we could..."

She yammers on and on and on, eventually we come to a decision, which she writes out carefully.

Then she drags Ko and I out to the Kazekage tower.

We wait outside as she goes to the aerie, I see the eyes again.

Only this time, they're closer.

Much closer.

Like, three inches away.

Ko yelps before his mouth is covered, and I feel a hand on my mouth too.

"Hello there pretty kitty. We're gonna take a walk to visit some nice people that wanna talk to you."

Pardon my french, but fuck.

I glare at him, tail growing more agitated by the minute.

"We don't want your lovely kitten getting hurt, now do we?"

This is one of those moments that the screen gets thinner and darker, and all you can see is the eyes.

Right before the bad guy get's their butt whooped.

He just threatened my cub.

My.

Cub.

A low growl builds up in my throat.

He raises an eyebrow.

I snarl, sinking my teeth into his hand.

He lets go with a yelp, and I yank Ko out of his grip, delivering a quick kick to the head.

The man stumbles back into the road, I leap on him, clawing at his face, mauling him.

"You. Do. Not. Threaten! My! Ko!"

I stand, sweeping him onto his feet with one of mine, before kicking him into a sand wall.

My tail swishes around my ankles angrily as I turn back to Ko.

Temari stands next to him, twitching.

"Remind me never to get you angry."

I blink, tilting my head to the side.

"Never get me... angry?"

She just sighs.

"We should probably report this to Gaara."

My eyes widen as I shake my hands.

"No! No, no, no. With Gaara's demon, he understands and is mostly subjected to animal instincts."

She raises an eyebrow.

"So?"

Ko's eyes widen as he grasps what I mean.

"I'm his future mate. Male nekos are extremely posessive. If he hears I was attacked again..."

Temari nods now.

"You'll be in a glass box, and he won't get anything done without seeing you're safe."

I nod.

"I can handle most of these things myself now, and he's happy. Actually happy."

She smiles to herself.

"I guess he is."

Temari looks up at me.

"We all see how much you two love each other, you know. Even strangers off the street."

I blush.

"I do love him. I want to be with him always."
