So the main point behind his whole break down is that he thinks it's Kankuro's child, but he doesn't care as long as he can have her.  It's supposed to be sort of bittersweet, but I think I kind of failed at that majorly.  Anyway, there are probably spelling issues because I don't have spellcheck, work with me, guys.

I'm not going to go into detail about labor.

It's long, painful, and messy.

But the kid's cute, at least.

She's not a neko, I'm not sure what I think about that.

On one hand, less people will be coming after her.

On the other, I can't teach her to fight the way I know, my tail is an important part of it.

Eh, I'll figure something out.

Gaara left about halfway through.

It might be that he's squeamish around blood- yeah right.

I'd say it's probably the fact that I was screaming bloody murder at one point.

I might have said a few things about cutting of a certain piece of anatomy.

Y'know... maybe.

The child has the darkest red hair I've ever seen.

It almost seems to be brown, you can barely see the red.

She has dark rings around her eyes as well, but I don't know the color.

On'na opens the door, grinning madly.

"Aww! She's so adorable! What's her name?"

Her name...

I haven't thought abouth it.

"Anyway, there was a security issue that Gaara's handling right now. He'll be back."

Of course he will.

He's been so over protective for a month, there's no way he would stay away.

Temari barges in next.

"Where's my niece? I want a child to spoil!"

I have a headache, she's not helping.

The child whines softly, as if comiserating with me.

I want to smile, but that would be rude.

Kankuro falls into the room next, looking exhausted.

"You can scream very loudly. No wonder Gaara's got bags under his eyes."

My mouth drops open, and Temari whacks him on the head.

"Ow, woman! Anyway, Nai and Ichiji are also dealing with the security problem."

If all three of them are necessary, it's a big issue.

Gaara alone should be able to handle the whole of the village.

"So, what's her name?"

I blink, looking down at her.

"I don't know. I want to wait for Gaara."

On'na smiles softly at that, but I turn my attention to the window.

I can hear yelling outside, maybe fireworks?

What the hell are they doing out there?

It's not like it's really an issue right now, so I glance back at them.

There's footsteps in the hall, before the door opens to show Gaara.

On'na and Temari drag Kankuro out.

Gaara's eyes are soft as they glance at me, he walks over silently.

Then his eyes fall on the child, and he stops.

"Her hair... that's not my child... Kill it."

My eyes widen, my muscles all tense.

"What?"

I must have heard wrong.

"It's not red. It's not black. It's brown. Kill it."

For perhaps the first time, Gaara is a total mystery to me.

"I don't mind... that you've been with my brother. But kill it... so we can still be together."

His eyesight isn't strong enough to see the red.

He thinks I bore his brother's child.

And throughout it all, he still loves me.

But I can't let him do this to himself.

He'll hate himself if he makes me kill her.

Before I can say anything, he leaves the room, the others trickle in.

"What was Gaara so upset about?"

I sigh deeply.

What I'm about to do is very dangerous, after all.

"I have to leave for a while. Nai, you have to bring Ko into your house."

Ko looks at me alarmed.

"On'na is going to continue teaching you, you'll go to the Academy."

Then I turn back to Temari and Kankuro.

"It's going to be a while before I come back. Don't let him kill himself."

I get out of the bed and put on some normal clothes.

Then, sighing, I jump out the small window, baby in my arms.

I know what to call her now.

"Amari."

Remainder.

The last reminant of the best time of my life.
