Why Don't You Hate Me?

Start from the beginning

He shakes his head slightly, "I can't do this right now." He pulls his hands away.

"Ev, I know I lost your trust and I know you probably don't want to see me right now, but I need you to know what actually happened."

"No... I... I'm..." He looks down, "I'm sure you had a good reason to sneak out and kiss her..." he mumbles. I go to tell him the truth but we get called to go back to class.

Time Skip

"If you guys need to be alone at any point, we will happily leave." Brock says and everyone agrees. I sigh as I turn to Evan who is sitting next to me criss crossed on my bed.

"Hear me out, please."

He nods and looks up at me slightly.

"Last night after we went to bed together, I woke up at 2 am to meet Sydney at the park. When I got there, she was sitting in the grass. After a while of talking, she put her hand on my leg. I didn't say anything until her hand reached my chest. I asked her what she was doing, and that's when she forced me down. I don't know why, but I felt like I couldn't move or speak. I watched as she sat on my... lower stomach, and she leaned down and kissed me. I didn't kiss back. Then, she got off of me and walked away like nothing happened. After my f*cking brain processed what happened, I called everyone and explained the incident. After that, I went to Arlan's house and he kind of helped me calm down. When I Left there, Ryan, Lui, and Craig were waiting for me outside so I talked to them for a little bit and then came back here and got back where I was with you." I explain. He looks down at his hands.

"F*ck... I'm sorry." He mumbles

"No, No I shouldn't have snuck out in the first place." I admit.

He looks at me with sadness in his eyes, "Why did you want to talk to her?"

I look around frantically. "Uh... "

"Jon, just be honest." Ryan tells me.

I take a deep breath, "She wanted to get information on you."

"So she could ruin my life?" Evan asks, and I nod in response. He looks to the side then sighs.

He looks down, "Ok" he mumbles.

"You're not mad?" I ask

"No... I don't see a reason to be."

"Evan, I-I snuck out with your ex at 2am and let her kiss me then told everyone except for you. You understand that right?" I rant. All he does is slowly nod.

"People are gonna make mistakes, or regrettable decisions, but that doesn't mean I don't love you." He states innocently. How is he okay with this?

"I don't think you-"

"I understand one hundred percent."

I sigh in defeat and hug him. He hugs back as I rest my head on his shoulder.

"You should hate me!" I let go and put my head in his lap.

He rubs my hair, "I couldn't possibly hate you sweetie."

"Why are you like this? Why can't you accept the fact that I'm bad?" I complain but my voice is muffled.

"You have a good heart. That's all that matters to me." He says kindly. He rubs my back as I let my tears spill. I hear the door open and then close, probably the guys leaving.

I sob as he comforts me.

Evan's POV

Even though I'm upset about him sneaking out, the only thing I can do is forgive him. I put him through a lot.

He stops crying and looks up at me. I smile as I cup his rosy wet cheeks and wipe away his tears.

"Everything is okay. We're okay." I stare into his ocean eyes as he stares into my chocolate ones.

He lays his face on my shoulder, "Promise?"

"I Promise."

Next Day

"What the h*ll are you talking about!" Jon laughs

"All I'm saying... is you're cute when you cry." I admit with a smile. A few of the guys giggle as we knock on Brock's door. He opens his door as we all greet him with a smile. Before he closes his door, a voice is heard.

"Brock, maybe you shouldn't hang out with Evan. I don't want you getting depressed too." His mom says from upstairs. He closes his eyes and sighs.

He turns around, "Mom... I'm not leaving Evan. I'm fine and he is too."

"He's not fine, he tried to kill-"

"Hey, I gotta go. I love you" He blurts before closing his door.

"Sorry. She's still a little... shook." Brock says as we begin to walk.

"It's fine I under-" I look across the street at my house and see dad looking at us through the blinds. He's smirking at me. I blush slightly and hide next to Jon since he's a little taller than me.

Jon wraps an arm around my shoulder, "What's wrong?"

"Dad's watching me." I mumble, quickly looking away.

"Don't worry, we'll protect you." He says sweetly.

"Thank you..." I mumble. We walk another block and our school appears. As we walk into the gates, we head for the grass area. We sit down together and talk until Sydney comes over. I don't want to look at her, so I lean over Lui's shoulder. Him, Ryan, David, and Marcel look at me curiously until they see why I turned away.
