Ch. 5

——Carolina's POV——

'Why in the hell is Tennessee tossing and turning?' I just got back from training and I see Tennessee looking like he was fighting for his life.
'I'm waking him up.'

"Tennessee? Wake up." I was shaking his body trying to wake him up. But I didn't expect his eyes to snap open and for him to immediately try to attack me.

"TENNESSEE! TENNESSEE IT'S ME! CAROLINA! CAROLINA!" I wouldn't admit it to his face but he scares the hell out of me.

"Carolina?" Tennessee then shook his head and looked at her with sorrow in his eyes.

"I'm uh, fuck I'm sorry." Tennessee was actually sorrowful.

"It's uh, it's fine." I didn't know how to react.

"No, it's not. I get nightmares a lot. And when I wake up I get scared because of my time as a marine." Tennessee put his hands over his face and sighed.

'He's been through hell.' I actually felt bad for the
guy. I've only went through a fraction of what he has.

I walked up and put a hand on his shoulder.

"You really know how to make a guy feel special." Tennessee laughed.

"No, but I do understand." I calmly told him.

"What time is it?" Tennessee grumbled.

"20:49." I answered.

——Normal Pov——

"Fuck." Tennessee grumbled.

"What?" Carolina asked.

"I need to get geared up, and meet up with Wash." Tennessee stared.

"I forgot you had a mission today." Carolina felt stupid.

"It's whatever. If you see Wash tell him I'll meet him at the hanger." Tennessee was already up and strapping his armor on.

"Yeah I'll go look for him now." But before she left.
"Hey Tennessee?"

"Yes my fiery roommate?" Tennessee smirked at her.

"You're stupid, and... good luck." Carolina laughed before biting her lip and blurting out.

"Haha thanks. I'm sure I won't need it though."

——With Carolina and Wash——

"Hey Wash." Carolina called out to a Washington who was loading his battle rifle in the lockers.

"Oh hey Carolina, what's up?" Washington was weary of her.

"Tennessee wanted to let you know he'll meet you in the hanger." Carolina told him.

"I thought you 2 hated each other?" Washington asked her.

"We uh... we made up." Carolina was glad she had her helmet on because she was blushing.

"Okay well I'm gonna meet up with Tennessee. Later." Washington told Carolina who just nodded at him.

——Time Skip, With Tennessee and Washington——

"Took me a while to find this place they're for sure." Tennessee laughed.

"How long till we leave?" Washington asked.

"10 minutes. Where's our pilot?" Tennessee questioned.

"There she is over there!" Wash pointed out to 479er approaching.

"You boys ready to hit the road?" 479er had her hands on her hips.

"Depends, you ready to fly?" Tennessee smirked.
