your p.o.v. (narrative)
I wake up at 5 am every day, get dressed, do my hair, eat if there's time, brush my teeth, and then me and Max drive to school. Today, however, I woke up an hour late which is just great! I ran to the kitchen to eat breakfast.
I was greeted by Max, who seemed awfully strange this morning.
"Oh hey, look who's finally awake! I made you some toast and eggs." he said with an innocent look on his face.
"Um thanks, but why didn't you wake me up?" I questioned.
"You just looked so peaceful and I figured I'd make you breakfast so you could get more sleep!"
"Thanks Max, but please wake me up next time! We'll be late if you let me sleep in!"
Why is he being so nice today? Knowing Max, this is definitely going to cost me something.

"Bye kiddo! See you after school!" I yell to Max as I head to the junior hallway and he heads to the freshman one. As I'm rushing to my locker I accidentally bump into someone, I didn't get a good look at their face but I'm sure it was a boy.
"Are you okay?" the voice asks
"Just peachy!" I reply sarcastically and finally get to my locker.
I am greeted at my locker by my three friends, who look very cheery. Why is everyone so happy today? What the fuck is going on?
"Hey y/n/n!" Mary Jane says in an awfully happy tone, it was almost too happy... even for her.
"Um hey, MJ... how's it going?"
"It's going real good for MJ! Isn't it Syd?" Dina replies.
"Oh yeah, veryyyy good!"
Now even Syd is acting weird.
"Ok I'm just going to tell you! Josh asked me out! We're going to Babe's Diner at 7:00 today! Can you believe it?!" Mary Jane exclaims.
I could not believe it. I could feel my freaking heart sink, my crush and friend are dating. For Mary Jane's sake I fought back my tears and faked a smile.
"That's great MJ! I'm so happy for you!"
"Thanks! Lets go to class guys!"
My friends walked down the hallway to our next class while I stood at my locker dumbfounded and in shock.
Suddenly I wasn't feeling so peachy anymore.
