The compass flew through the air for a second, a long time considering how very fast I threw it, and for being in a trash disposal area. This place is huge! Like, this guy has started and stopped moving towards us, like a freaking red light green light game, and there's still seven feet or so between us.
It truly is a conundrum as to why this place has such a large trash disposal. There ain't no reason for it to be this big.
I pondered over this deep, intellectual question for almost a second, the same second that the compass was flying. Though a sound like breaking glass brought me back to reality.
Did I hit a window? Aw crap! Hope there's no cameras here. Maybe we can get away without consequence.
Nope! Either my aim is great or my luck is better, usually it's neither, so I have nothing to determine which one is correct.
The compass smacked emo boi hard in the chest, maybe I do have upper body strength, seemingly breaking something under his sweater.
The guy didn't even have any time to react, before he rose off the ground, and shot into the distance. I would have missed it if I even blinked, thankfully I randomly stare like a fish, acting like I don't have any eyelids.
"The fuck?" I looked around very confused. As far as I know, shooting off into the distance isn't a typical trait of healthy teenagers.
"Wha- where did he go?!"cried Ethan, who had fallen back onto his little Ethan butt in surprise.
A small waft of steam directed my short span of attention back to the compasses that were sitting on the ground. As I walked over to them, I could immediately tell something wasn't right(it was left owo). I'm a child of science and the laws of nature. Disappearing into nothing doesn't match either of those.
"Did I blank out, or did he just teleport or something?" I asked, turning towards Ethan, who was spinning around in confusion.
"Probably both..." He shook his head, "No, there has too be a reasonable answer"
But I wasn't listening, I was staring at the compasses. I stepped closer to them, and crouched down.
"Hey... Ethan, come her ." His head snapped in my direction, kinda like a chicken. Like when a chickens body moves, but the head stays still. Or when It looks like the only reason the head moved was because it was attached to the body. He ran over to me, and I could imagine his arms flying behind him and his head just leaning back as if it could fly off and he would keep running.
He crouched down next to me, "What the heck?"
He picked up the first compass I'd thrown, with nothing off except that there was no pointer. The arrow thing that would point forwards or something was gone. I picked up the second one, looking at the three new hands, none of which pointed north.
