Chapter 9

It had been 4 months since Barry ran into the Speedforce, and Kara was heartbroken. She'd give anything to see him smile, his laughter, his passionate kisses. Kara would visit Team Flash every couple of weeks, but it wasn't the same without her Scarlet Speedster around. Iris has been even more angry around Kara since Barry left.

Kara was sitting on her couch eating a tub of ice cream while watching 'Singing in the Rain' Barry's favorite movie, till she heard a knock on her door. It was James, "It's open." She yelled.

James opened the door, "Hey Kara."

"Hey James." Kara said stuffing her face with ice cream.

"How are you doing?" He asked sitting next to her.

She scooted away a bit, "I miss him."

"I know, but Kara he's not coming back. It's been four months." James stated hoping that she'd move on from Barry.

"No, he's coming back. He promised me. I don't want anyone else. I want Barry!!" Kara sobbed into her hands

To Barry in the Speedforce

It felt like yesterday when Barry arrived into the speedforce and it felt like he'd been running for a lifetime. He just kept running till his lightning went from orange, to red, to purple, to blue, and finally white. The only thing that kept him going was Kara. Her smile, her laugh, her love. He missed her and she was the reason he was running. Till the speedforce showed up as his mother.

"Barry." It addressed him, "It's time for you to go back and finish Savitar."

Barry who's hair was longer and had a full blown beard spoke up, "How do I get home?"

"You're fast enough to open a portal home. Go back and end Savitar." The Speedforce commanded him

"I will, I swear." Barry zoomed off as fast as he could seeing a portal open in front of him instantly zooming through it.

Barry jumped through the portal and ended up on Earth-38, zooming into Kara's apartment.

Kara who was afraid saw the white lightning zooming really fast around her apartment till the speedster stopped.

Kara looked him and tears started falling down her face, "Barry?" She asked in disbelief

"I'm here Kara." He smiled and she wrapped her arms around him.

"I missed you Barry!!! Please don't ever leave me again!!!" Kara sobbed into his chest

"Never again Kara." He hugged her back tightly taking in her scent.

"How'd you get out and why is your lightning white?" Kara asked

"Well I've been in the speedforce for over 2,000 years I've been running and running and running with only one name on my mind." He said, "Yours."

"Barry it's been four months since you left and I was gonna lose hope you weren't coming back to me." Kara said

He grabbed her hand and ran it across his chest, "You feel that it's still beating and it'll always beat for you."

"It's beating really fast actually." Kara said.

Barry smiled till everything started slowing down, he knew something was wrong. He grabbed Kara and zoomed out of her apartment. Running down the streets of National City at blinding speeds with a familiar streak on his tail. Barry arrived in the outskirts of National and saw him standing across from him.

"Savitar." Barry said still holding Kara

"I see you've gotten faster, Flash. Think you can challenge a God now?" Savitar asked

"I will and I'm gonna tear your suit apart." Barry confirmed everything around the two of them were still.

"You think so?" Savitar questioned him

"I know so." Barry glared at him

"Cya around Flash." Savitar said zooming off and Barry released Kara.

"Wait how'd we get out here?" Kara questioned looking around

"Savitar showed up." Barry said, "I need to get back to my earth so I can finish him."

"I'm coming with you." Kara confirmed

"Alright." Barry said

Before Kara knew it they were traveling down the portal and arrived in the cortex on Earth-1.

"Whoa, too fast." Kara breathes out

"Sorry." Barry apologized

Cisco, Caitlin, Wally, and HR immediately ran into the cortex and saw Kara with a familiar man.

"Kara? What are you doing here?" Cisco asked looking the man up and down

"Uh I'm sorry, but who are you?" Wally questioned the man standing before them

Barry zoomed out of the room shaving extremely fast and standing right next to Kara, it's like he never left, "Recognize me now." He smiled

"BARRY!!!" They all reacted hugging there Scarlet Speedster

Barry hugged each of them.

"How are you here?" Cisco said happily

"The speedforce let me go, they wanted me to defeat Savitar." Barry said crossing his arms

"I guess the nickname Scarlet Speedster doesn't suit your lightning color any more." Caitlin said

"Yeah, gonna need a new suit too." Barry said looking over at Cisco

"I'm all over it." He said running out the cortex

"Hope you haven't been slacking in your training Wally." Barry chuckled

"Nope, but it would be nice to have a real speedster train me." He smiled

"Of course Wally." Barry said

Wally nodded, him and HR left the cortex to keep his training going. Caitlin gave Barry and Kara a hug before leaving the cortex.

"You've been quiet since we got here? You ok?" He asked a bit concerned

"Yeah I just never got to see your apartment before you left." She said hinting at him

Barry was a bit confused, but then it hit him, "Oh you wanna do that."

She smirked, "Mhm." And in a flash of white they were standing in Barry's apartment.

"I will not get over that." Kara said pulling Barry into a kiss leading him towards the bedroom.
