~Chapter 9~

Amy's POV~

I was staring out of my bedroom window, watching the warm summer breeze move the trees. My school gave me a few days off to recover from the shooting, so that meant I could finally relax from high school! It was okay being a freshman but at the same time it wasn't, since there were a lot of homework and small projects I was currently doing and not to mention that I also got shot for the first time on the job. I was bored, so I decided to go outside. I went to my closet and put on a short sleeved purple shirt, blue jeans and blacks sneakers. After that, I headed downstairs and out the door. I let my little sister tag along as well, since she had already met Jack and I never got to spend time with her that much, again due to school. I was just talking to Sarah when I heard a familiar voice. "Hey Amy!" I turned to my left to see Carly and Lily, two childhood friends of mine, besides Jack. "Hey Lily!" I replied, smiling and walking over to them. "It's been a while! How have you been?" Lily giggled. "I've been good! Just bored with school!" We continued our conversation, and while we were talking, I didn't notice that Carly had disappeared. I was about to go on walking with Sarah, before I was pushed lightly. "Who-" I didn't get to finish, before I heard Carly scream, "TAG! YOUR IT!" And started to run after tagging me. I smiled and started to run after her while laughing. I forgot to mention that Jack had already re-introduced himself to Carly and Lily again, so he was with me during the chase. After we were done playing tag, we went on top of a hill, laid down and started rolling down. It was thrilling! We were a little dizzy, but it was really fun! I was about to get up, but fell back down, coughing, clutching my stomach. No...... No, no, no, no, no......not now...... "Amy?? What's wrong??" I heard Carly shout, before running towards me. Lily followed after her. "Sissy??" Sarah fell to my side, hugging me. She looked exactly like me when I was five, and she had my personality too. She was so sweet, and always worries about me. Even Laughing Jack was worried. I could see it on his face. I slowly stood up, groaning. "I-I'm fine......it's......just......m-my......coughing fit......again." I replied, shaking. They knew about the illness I had. I would cough up blood in coughing fits. Jack was puzzled, I guess he didn't know about my problem. Carly explained to him what was wrong with me, and I could see his face go dark. I looked down at my hand and saw blood. I looked back up at them, and Jack......Jack had a worried look on his face. "I-I think I'm just going to go home......" I quietly replied, before turning around and started to head back home, Sarah right beside me. I was only walking for five minutes when I heard a familiar voice call my name. "Amy......wait up." I saw in the corner of my eye Jack approaching me. "I-I'm fine Jack. I......I promise." I tried to reassure Jack and gave a weak smile. I had stopped walking and, before I could continue heading home, I started wheezing and flew into another coughing fit. I couldn't stand anymore, so I collapsed onto the warm grass. "Amy!!" Jack cried, and he caught me before I hit the ground. It finally ended after maybe two minutes. I was shaking, and I felt weak. I managed to get back, but I blacked out as soon as I got back home.

Laughing Jack's POV~~

I carried Amy, and gently placed her on her bed before I just sat there beside her. Why didn't she tell me about this? She's my best friend! I sighed. Then again, maybe she didn't want me to worry. I looked back at her again. She was so pale...... I brushed a piece of hair out of her face. She's so beautiful...... My feelings are growing stronger for her......

3 hours later, after Amy woke up.....

Amy's POV~

I was out walking with my headphones in, singing a song that was playing. It had been a few hours since I had woke up after blacking out, and Jack had hugged me when I woke up. He was beside me since we went to his carnival, and I had sung a few songs, such as Puppet from Ib, Old Doll from Mad Father, Wolf in Sheep's Clothing, Painted Faces, Paint It Black and many more when we sat down in a tent at the carnival. He was surprised at my voice and I saw that he was blushing when the last song I sang was over, which was Circus Monster. "You have a beautiful voice Amy." He complimented. I turned away, my cheeks turning bright red. "T-Thanks." I stammered, turning back to face him, "I......I don't like to show it often. I'm......very shy." He chuckled, and gave me a hug. He told me I shouldn't be shy, and that I have a lovely voice. I hugged him back and thanked him. Then I thought of an idea. "Hey Jack?" I asked, pulling away from the hug. "Yeah?" "There's one last thing......I want to show you." I took a deep breath. "It's......one last talent of mine......" He was curious, but smiled. "Sure! I'd love to see it!" I smiled and signaled him to follow me. It wasn't long before I found what I was looking for. Jack followed me and was shocked to see me sitting down in front of a piano. "What are we doing here?" he asked, and I smiled. "You'll see." He sat beside me, confused, but it didn't last for long. I took a deep breath, before putting my fingers onto the piano keys, and started playing the piano song from the game Paranoiac, and then I played Memory from the game Ib, along with Gary's theme. When it was over, I looked at Jack, only to see him shocked. "Amy......" he said softly. I gave a soft smile, my cheeks a light red. "I......I wanted to show you my last talent......" I started, and I looked away from him. "I......I've never really performed for anyone before......As I said, I'm very sh-" I was cut off when Jack hugged me. I was shocked but hugged him back. "That was amazing Amy." He finally said, smiling. I blushed and returned the smile. "Thank you."

I walked back home, and greeted my mom before heading up to my room, and got ready for bed. When I was done, I slipped under my bed covers, closed my eyes and quickly fell asleep.

Laughing Jack's POV~~

When Amy was finally asleep, I laid beside her and cuddled with her. She's so beautiful...... I sighed, and moved closer to her. I'm happy to have my best friend back, after being separated for so many years. I thought, smiling softly. But......m-maybe.......we could be.......more.......than best friends...... I blushed when she moved to my side, and buried herself into my chest. I chuckled softly before I wrapped my arms around her gently to avoid waking her up. I closed my eyes and nuzzled Amy, before falling asleep beside her.
