~Chapter 1~

Amy's POV~

I was playing with my teddy bear and sitting on the swing. I was so excited since today was my fifth birthday! I was wearing a white dress that went down to my knees. I had cute little puffy sleeves on my shoulders, and they were attached to the dress. I was wearing white socks up to my knees, and had black flats with straps on. There was a small red bow in the back of my hair. I giggled and hugged my bear when I saw Carly, a friend of mine, running up to me quickly. "Hi Carly!" I chirped happily and giggled. "Why are you running?" I asked, tilting my head in curiosity. Carly was jumping up and down in front of me, with a big smile on her face! She was excited about something! "Amy! Amy!! You gotta come with me! There is something you have to see!" She squeaked. I gently got off the swing seat and gave her a confused look. Before I could ask her what it was she wanted to show me, she quickly took my hand and started running. "Okay!" I replied, following her. "Slow down!" She kept running, and we ran past the playground and a few trees. When we finally stopped, we were in front of a lot of kids! And standing in front of them, was a little boy! But he was dressed weirdly. He was dressed up as clown but he had no colors. I gave the biggest smile, as I sat down to watch the show.

Laughing Jack's POV (6 years old)~~

I was standing in front of a group of children, about to perform, when one specific child caught my eye. It was a little girl, with long wavy curly brown hair, and big beautiful sparkly blue eyes, with a little white dress, holding a teddy bear, smiling at me. I blushed, but quickly went back to doing little tricks.

Amy's POV~

I giggled as I watched him. He was amazing! "Now, I hear its someone's birthday today." the clown spoke, looking at all of the kids. I buried my face into my teddy bear, as my cheeks turned red. "Hmm.....could it be........yours?" He turned and looked at me. I was scared, and didn't show my face, but Carly pushed me up, smiling. "Go on!" She encouraged, giggling. I gave a nervous look at her and removed the teddy bear hiding my face. I gave Carly my teddy bear to hold and put my hands behind my back. My cheeks were red from shyness, and I quickly looked down. "Aww." the boy said, as he reached a hand out towards me. "Don't be shy!" I looked up at him, before taking a breath and slowly walked towards him, still feeling shy. When I got up to him, he gave me a friendly smile. "I have something for you!" he exclaimed, and he slowly his hand and revealed multiple colored candies! I widened my eyes, and looked up at him. He could see I was shy. "Do you want one?" He asked, giving me a warm smile. "I made them all by mwysewf!" "A-Are you sure?" I asked nervously, swaying from side to side. "Yeah!" He giggled, as he moved his hand closer to me. "Go on! Take one!" I nervously reached my hand into his, and chose a pink wrapped candy. I smiled warmly, and giggled. "Thank you." "No problem! I give candies to all my fwiends!" he replied, as he gave me a warm smile in return. I walked back to my spot, and sat back down again as I watched the rest of his tricks.

Laughing Jack's POV~~

After she sat back down, I continued with my little tricks but I felt happy on the inside. Maybe she can be my fwiend! I thought to myself happily. I can have a best fwiend so I won't be wonewy! 

After the show....

Amy's POV~

That was amazing! He made balloon animals, and gave us candy! I got up and saw Carly leaving after the show was over. "Hey Carly!" I said cheerfully, "Wanna play with me?" She turned and gave a sad frown. "Sorry Amy. My mommy said I have to go home now. But maybe we could play tomorrow!" She said, before waving and leaving. "Oh......okay.......bye......." I softly replied, before waving, and slowly went to the playground, sitting down. I felt tears running down my face. No one wanted to play with me in the afternoons......"Well, well, well" I heard a familiar voice, and I started trembling. I looked up and saw Eric and his friends, Jason and Kyle surrounding me. "If it isn't crybaby Amy."

Laughing Jack's POV~~

After the show, I heard a little girl say goodbye to another child. I looked out, and saw it was the same little girl with the teddy bear that I gave the candy to! She looked sad......she went to the playground, sat down and started crying. Now's my chance to make a friend! But before I could make my move, I saw three boys go over to her and corner her.

Amy's POV~

"L-leave me a-alone E-Eric....." I sniffled, burying my head into my teddy bear. "Aww, you crying again?" He mocked. "Your such a baby! You always cry when no one wants to play with you." I buried my head into my teddy bear, standing up, backing away until I felt the bars surrounding the playground behind me. "Y-y-you always p-pick on me E-Eric....." I stuttered out, terrified. He approached me, with his friends. "I think that teddy bear belongs to me" he said, starting to pull on it. "No!! Stop!!" I cried as I pulled on my teddy bear, as tears ran down my small face. "He's my friend! Let g-" Before I could finish, Eric pushed me back violently, causing me to fall and hit my head on the cement, and I felt something sticky run down my face. Eric looked scared, so he ran away with his friends, leaving me there. I was barely awake and my eyes slowly started to close. I saw a black blurry figure lean down towards me, and then everything went black.

Laughing Jack's POV~~

I saw the little girl's eyes close, and I slowly bent down. "Don't worry fwiend." I murmured, wrapping my arms around her in a protective way and I slowly started to walk back to an old abandoned carnival that was nearby. "I'll help pwotect you fwom those meanies." And I started humming Pop goes the Weasel.
