The following morning...

Laughing Jack's POV~~

I groaned as I slowly felt my eyes open before I was fully awake. When I looked down I saw little Amy still shaking, my arms wrapped around her. I remembered the events that happened last night. I sighed as I held her close to me, my grip on her slightly tighter. "It's gonna be okay Amy." I murmured, slowly stroking her hair. "Your safe with your best fwiend Jack." I just held her in my arms, staring at her. She was so small. I held her close to my chest, trying to warm her. I slowly placed my hand on her cheek. She's so cold... I thought, as I still held her close to me. I could see her shaking slightly. I felt more tears form. Why? Why her? Why is she making me feel this way? I've never felt this way with the other kids..... I was pulled out of my thoughts when I saw Amy's eyes open a little.

Amy's POV~~

I opened my eyes a little bit, looking up to see Jack holding me. "J....J.....a.....ac.....ck....?" I whimpered, feeling so cold. My skin was so pale, and I was freezing. He pulled me closer to his chest, seeing I was shivering. "Shh, It's okay fwiend." he said softly, nuzzling me, "I'll pwotect you. Your safe with me." I was whimpering and shaking, pulling his jacket closer to my face. I was so cold and scared..... "m....m....my..... t-t-tummy....h-h-hu....ur....t-t-ts...." I shuddered, whimpering. He looked at me and I could see he was sad. "I know fwiend....." he said, wrapping his arms around me a little more, "I know..." I started to cry. "W-Wh.....h....y-y.....d-d-did....E-E-Er-r-r.....ic-c-c....h-h.....u.....ur....r...t-t-t....m-m-m....e.....?" I whimpered, shivering as I buried my head in his warm chest. "I don't know. But he won't ever huwt you again." he sighed, pulling me closer, running his hand through my hair gently. I soon found myself asleep in his arms.

Laughing Jack's POV~~

I just sat there, listening to her breathing, since she had fallen asleep again. I was still thinking about what she asked me. I don't know why he huwt her either. I thought. She did nothing wrong. She's just wanted to pway with someone. I sighed, and brought her closer to me. I only then noticed that her skin was returning to it's normal color slowly. I just kept her by me, waiting for her to wake up again, wrapping my arms around her protectively. "How is she?" I heard a voice ask. I looked up to see Mr. Jason standing there. "She's still huwting." I replied, not taking my eyes off of her. He slowly approached me. "I need to change her bandages." I sighed. "Just....pwease be careful. I want my best fwiend to get better." He just stayed silent. "I will try." I then noticed he had fresh bandages. "J.....J.....a......ac.....c...k...?" I looked down to see her awake.


Amy's POV~~

I opened my eyes and quivered out Jack's name. He looked at me. "It's okay bestie." he spoke softly, pulling me close. I then noticed the man near him. He had a suit and a red tie, but he had no face. "W....W......Wh......o....o....i....i...s.....h.....h.....e.....?" I quivered, shaking. "Don't be afraid little one." The man replied. I started to feel tears fall down my cold face. "P....P....Pl.....ea....se......d....d...do.....n't.....h....huwt.......m...me..." He sighed. "I'm not here to hurt you." He said softly, "I'm here to help." I shivered, looking up at Jack. He looked at me softly. "It's okay fwiend. He won't huwt you." He said, smiling. "He's a fwiend." I looked back at the man, and whimpered, "o....o...ok.....k.....k.....k.....ay......" He nodded, and unwrapped my chest and stomach bandages. "This may sting for a moment," He said, before putting medicine on my injuries. I whimpered and felt tears slowly fall again. "Shh....." Jack said, pulling me close to him, "It's okay bestie. I'm wight hewe."


Laughing Jack's POV~~

I kept Amy close to me. It hurt to see her cry because of the pain, but I calmed her down, knowing she would be okay. "There." Mr. Jason said, and I looked up to see him finish. "I changed her bandages and gave her some medicine to help keep infections away. I will check on her later." He replied before he left. I looked back down at her, and held her, seeing she had fallen asleep again. I just sighed, and curled my arms around her, nodding off.

So what happens next is after she recovers, Amy moves away to live with her grandmother and moves back 9 years later!! So time skip!! ~~
