When Bai Aoxue was thinking, the door of the room was quietly opened. Mumian stuck her little pitiful head out through the door.

Bai Aoxue stared at Mumian, who was looking around, and felt this scene funny.

“Chuckle… Mumian, what are you doing?” Bai Aoxue asked, looking at Mumian who was sneaky beside the door.

Mumian’s eyes were immediately lit up when she saw that Bai Aoxue was awake. She quickly walked into Bai Aoxue’s room and then rushed to Bai Aoxue. She wanted to hug Bai Aoxue but stopped dejectedly since she suddenly realized that Bai Aoxue was injured.

“Miss…” Mumian looked at Bai Aoxue nervously, and her eyes were full of tears.

Mumian’s appearance gave Bai Aoxue a headache. Women were really made of water. When they wanted to cry, they could shed tears immediately. However, Bai Aoxue completely forgot that she was also a woman.

“I’m fine. They’re not serious. There’s nothing to be alarmed about.” Bai Aoxue comforted Mumian. She was afraid that Mumian would cry again.

Mumian looked at Bai Aoxue suspiciously. Even if she was not smart, she saw that the sword was stabbed into Bai Aoxue’s belly. How could she be all right?

“Miss….Do you still feel painful? It’s all my fault. I even didn’t know that I was cheated, and I even can’t protect myself!” Mumian gently knelt on the ground and looked at Bai Aoxue. She kept blaming herself.

When Bai Aoxue saw Mumian kneeling on the ground, she slightly frowned.

“Mumian, get up. Have you forgotten what I said? Don’t kneel down easily at any time. You and I are family. I am willing to get hurt for you.” Bai Aoxue looked at Mumian seriously and said so.

After Mumian heard Bai Aoxue’s words, although she was hesitant, she still knelt on the ground stubbornly.

“Miss, I know that you treat me as your family, and I am very fortunate to meet Miss because Miss did not treat me as a servant. But Miss, you’re injured because of me, and I feel very sad. I hope that it was me who got injured. I hope that it was me who was stabbed by that sword!” Mumian said tearfully, but she resisted her tears stubbornly.

When Bai Aoxue was just about to speak, Mumian spoke before she did: “After this incident, I understand that you worried about me because I was dependent on you too much, so you were distracted and got injured!”

Bai Aoxue looked at Mumian. She did not expect that Mumian became mature only because she got injured for one time.

“Mumian, listen to me. You were the first person I saw after I was saved from the lake. You were the first person who cried for me. How can I not protect you? My mother said that when you wanted to protect someone, you would be strong. And I want to protect you. So, I will not flinch no matter what kinds of difficulty is waiting for me. Mumian, you can keep relying on me!” Bai Aoxue stroked Mumian’s head and said gently.

After Mumian heard Bai Aoxue’s words, she finally shed tears.

“Miss… I also have someone whom I want to protect. I also want to be strong then protect you, and I won’t let you get hurt!” Mumian threw herself on Bai Aoxue’s quilt and broke into sobs.

When Bai Aoxue saw that Mumian finally began to cry, she was gradually relieved. She was most afraid that Mumian would have complex after this thing. It was not good for her.

“Just cry! Mumian, you will grow up and become stronger…” Bai Aoxue said with a faint smile.

However, she was looking outside in thought.
