the tides of us

you're so clueless sometimes it hurts

you in the clouds, me below the earth

the wistfulness of my gaze receding like the tide

as your gaze flickers from the stars to my eyes

i am a star, but i sit alone in in the ocean's depths and brine

and you adore the sea but you're drifting the endless skies

so let's try to find the middle ground for now

settle on the color of eyes, a warm, rich brown

let the sun be what the moon is to you

what the softly glowing jellies are for me too

let's bathe in the honeyed sun rays and plant a sunflower field

let's make the place where we are each other's here
