35. First Night

Shawn 💖

Y/ N and I brought little Sophie home earlier today. She is doing great and we are settling her down for her first night at home. I don't think we'll have any problems as she's such a good little girl and we are so proud to be her mommy and daddy. I walk into the nursery and Y/ N is sat on the nursing chair feeding Sophie. "Hey, love. How's it going?" I ask. "Yeah fine. She's taking her time feeding though" she said. "That's okay. There's no rush" I say. I wait for Y/ N to be done feeding Sophie which was about 15 minutes later. She changed her and got her into her pjs ready for bed. "Can I sing my little girl to sleep?" I say. "Sure of course you can, Shawnie. Soph will love that" Y/ N replies. She hands Sophie to me and I sing her a lullaby before we put her to sleep. Soon we lay her down and she goes straight to sleep. We tip toe out of the room so we won't wake her up again. "See I knew it wouldn't be a problem, Y/ N" I said. "Yeah me too. Our little angel is such an angel" Y/ N replies. "She is" I smile kissing her cheek. Me and Y/ N have sometime together before we go to bed ourselves. Sophie woke up a couple of hours later for a feed

Harvey 💙

Me and Harvey our baby Aiden to bed not so long ago. We got home this morning with him and things have been going good so far. He's fast asleep now and hopefully he will be for a little bit longer. Harvey and I are chilling on the couch for as long as we can. "It's good that he's asleep" he said. "Eh don't jinx it" I reply. We chill for a bit longer before Aiden wakes up crying. I go into his room to see what's wrong with him. I can tell he needs feeding so I sit down and feed him. Harvey comes in. "Our baby boy is so sweet, Y/ N" he said. "He is indeed. He's the cutest" I reply. "He definitely is" Harvey said. When I had finished feeding Aiden I change his nappy as he needed a change then we settled him back down to sleep. It took a few minutes to put him back to sleep but we got there eventually and our little man was fast asleep again. Hope he sleeps for a few more hours before waking up again. Harvey and I went to bed pretty soon as we were tired from the day. Aiden woke up later and I tended to him. Harvey and I got some sleep on the first night home

Niall 💚

It's our first night at home with the triplets and we are getting them settled down for bed. At least we have Maura staying with us to help us which is great. We know it's going to be hard getting three newborn babies to sleep at the same time. Now we've fed all the babies and got them changed. They are almost ready for bed now which is good. We take a baby each to get settled for bed. I had Cora, Niall has Cillian and Maura has Cian. We put their pjs on and then settle them but it wasn't easy as they all kept on crying. A while later the babies settled down and we could get them to sleep but not all at the same time. "Well that wasn't easy but at least they are all asleep now" Niall said. "Yeah I know and they are" I reply. "Listen. You two get an early night if you want. I'll be on baby duty" Maura said. "It's alright, mum. Me and Y/ N will stay up for a bit" Niall replies. "Okay, love" she replies. We unwind with Maura for a bit before going to bed. The triplets woke up at different tones during the night and we are all on a rota to tend to them. It was an eventful first night at home with our babies. We will get into more of a routine eventually

Ruel 💜

Kate and Ralph are helping us get little George settled down for his first night at home. We are not really sure what to do so they are here to help us which is a good job. We are getting George ready for bed anytime now. Ruel is giving him a bottle now before we get him ready for bed. I've got some pjs out for him and a fresh nappy to put on him when he's done. Soon Ruel was done feeding him so we could get him ready for bed. "Hey, little boy. Are you ready for bed now?" I say holding George. I lay him down on the changing table and put a fresh nappy on him and his pjs. I could tell that George was getting tired so hopefully it shouldn't be too much of a problem getting him to bed. When he was all changed. We got him settled for bed with Kate's help. "If he doesn't fall for in a few minutes, pick him up and rock him" she said. "Okay I will" I reply. I want to try and do this myself. I'm George's mother after all. He doesn't fall asleep so I pick him up and rock him but he starts crying a few minutes later. "Shhhh it's okay, my love. You need to sleep" I say. He cries for a few minutes and Kate steps in to help. "Maybe grandma will have the magic touch" I say. Kate gets George settled to sleep soon after. I would like to have done it but I'll get used to it when I've had more practice and Ruel will too. Next time we'll do it on our own

Khalid ❤️

Serenity is in bed sleeping now. Khalid and I went to bed not long ago. We are sleeping now as we both tired. Serenity cams gone earlier today and it's great to be home with her. I think Khalid and I are doing a good job with her so far. He said that he'll do most of the night feeds and changes as I need to rest with me having a c section and a traumatic time. As me and Khalid were asleep, we were woken by Serenity crying. Khalid wakes up and yawns. "I'll go and seat to her" he said. "Okay. Thanks, babe. You're the best" I yawn. He gets out of bed and picks up Serenity and rocks her. "Ohhhhh she needs a diaper change. It's a stinky one" he said. Khalid changes Serenity and then lays her back down and gets into bed. A few minutes later she starts crying again so he gets out of bed again. "Hey. What's up now? Do you need daddy to feed you?" he said. I have been busy pumping breast milk for night feeds this afternoon. Khalid goes into the kitchen and warms up some milk and feeds Serenity in the nursery so they are not distributing me. Awwww he's so kind and thoughtful. Khalid did the next night feed and change later and I did the one after. I slept well which was good. The first night didn't go too bad

Eric 🧡

Me and Eric got back today with Milo and Felix from the hospital. It's great to have our baby boys home. It's amazing in fact. They are settling into home life just fine we think and it's only been a few hours. We are getting them ready for bed now. We could be a while. Eric and I both feed a baby each. We bottle feed them in the lounge next to each other. "Our boys are enjoying their milk" Eric said. "They are but I can tell their getting sleepy" I reply. "Yeah me too. They'll be ready soon" he said. When we'd fed the boys we burp them a little and then get them ready for bed by changing their diapers and putting their pjs on. "Okay I think they are ready now. Let's try and get them to sleep now" Eric said. "Yeah" I reply. We rock the babies to sleep and they fall asleep pretty soon. We lay them down and walk out of the room quietly to let them sleep. "That wasn't too bad" Eric whispers. A moment later we hear one of the boys fussing. Eric goes back in and it was Felix. "Hey. What's up, little man?" he said. He picks him up and calms him down a few minutes later. Milo and Felix sleep and wake up later. Eric and I had a little time together though before they woke up. The first night went pretty good after all

Hunter 💛

Earlier we brought Hailey home from the hospital and Ezra met her for the first time. He loved meeting his little sister for the first time. Hunter's parents left earlier when we got back as they've been looking after Ezra while we were in the hospital with Hailey. They said they'll drop by tomorrow so see how things are going. Me and Hunter are getting the kids ready for bed now. Hunter is putting Ezra to bed like he usually does and I'm getting Hailey ready for bed. The boys and girls have to stick together. I kiss Ezra Goodnight and go into Hailey's room. I fed her not so long ago so she should be good for a while. I lay her down on the changing unit and change her diaper and put her pjs on for bed. "There we go, my little girl. Are you ready for bed now?" I say. Hailey yawns. I pick her up and carry her over to her crib. I remember the first night we brought Ezra home. He was a couple of weeks early so we were in the hospital for about a week before we took him home. Hailey falls asleep a few minutes after I put her down. I walk out of the room and go downstairs. Hunter is sat on the couch. "She's asleep. She fell asleep straight away" I say. "Good. I read Ezra a story and he fell asleep straight away too" Hunter said. I sit next to him and he kisses me. "Darling, we have such good children" he said. "Yes we do" I reply. Hailey was really good and didn't wake up much during the night was great

Charlie 🤎

His POV

Me and Y/ N got home with Jacob today. It's great to have our little boy home and he's doing just great. He was born on my birthday too which couldn't have been better. It's 7:30pm and me and Y/ N are getting Jacob settled for his first night at home. Y/ N has just fed him. It takes her a while to breastfeed him which is fine. I go into Jacob's room to help get him ready for the night. "Are you gonna put a clean diaper on him?" I ask. "Yeah I will" she replies. Y/ N puts a clean diaper on Jacob and I put his pjs. "There we go. All ready for bed now, son" I say picking Jacob up and kissing him. I then hand him to Y/ N and she rocks him to sleep. I rock him for a bit too till he falls asleep. I lay him down in his crib. Y/ N and I leave Jacob to sleep. It's good that we got him to sleep fairly quick too. He's tired and needs his sleep so do me and Y/ N later. "Thanks for getting him settled" Y/ N said. "No. It was fine. I love spending time with my son" I say. "Awwww you're such a great father, Char" she said. "Thanks and you're such a great mom, Y/ N" I say kissing her. So we got Jacob settled for his first night at home and I did it. I'm loving being a dad so far
