33. Labor/ Delivery- Charlie 🤎

I'm just a few days off my due date now and baby Jacob could come anytime now. Me and Charlie are so ready to be parents to him. It's also Charlie's birthday tomorrow too so it would be amazing if Jacob came on his daddy's birthday. That would make his day so much. We can't wait to meet our little guy so very soon. Having a baby and getting married are the best decisions me and Charlie have ever made. Everything is just about ready for our little boy and we absolutely cannot wait to meet him. Charlie and I are going out for a little walk around our neighbourhood. We try and do it everyday if we can. It keeps me fit in the late stages of my pregnancy and walking can help bring labor on too. We get our coats and shoes on and walk out the door. I know it's a bit cold to do walking as it's December. Charlie holds my hand as we walk. "It's a pretty nice day, babe" he said. "Yes it is" I say. "We don't have to go fast. Let me know if we want to stop and go home" Charlie said. "I will do" I reply. We walk for about 20 minutes and then go back home as it was enough. We sat on the couch and put our feet up and Charlie makes us hot drinks. As we are sat on the couch, I feel a sharp pain which must be a contraction. "Are you okay, honey?" Charlie asks. "I think the walk helped. I think I'm having a contraction" I say. "Oh really. Our son could be coming on my birthday. We will share the same birthday" he said. "Yes possibly. Hang on. Don't take me to the hospital yet. The contractions are not frequent yet" I say. "Okay, honey. Tell me when you need to" Charlie replies

We get all our things and get in the car and travel to the hospital. Unfortunately it's just rush hour time so it might take us a bit longer. Oh no I hope I don't have our son in the car. That wouldn't be good. I stay calm as Charlie drives and tries to get through the traffic. "Don't worry, honey. We'll be there soon. I'm driving quick but more importantly I'm getting us there safely" Charlie said. "Yeah I know" I reply. Soon we arrived at the hospital. I didn't give birth in the car. Thank God. We park up and get out of the car and go in. I get taken into a room straight away. The midwife and doctor comes into examine me. "Y/ N Puth" she said. "Yes that's me" I reply. "How are you?" the midwife asks. "I'm good" I reply. She examines me and I was just under halfway dilated. She leaves Charlie and I in peace. "My son is definitely going to come on my birthday. It's gonna be the best birthday ever" he said. "Yeah it looks like it. Jacob is gonna share a birthday with his daddy" I reply. "Yes" Charlie said. We sit and wait for something to happen as it was quite a long while. Several hours to be precise. The midwives kept on coming in often to monitor me. It's now almost midnight so it's nearly Charlie's birthday. He's been with me all day. I've told him to go home and get some rest but he doesn't want to leave my side. "Char, it's officially your birthday. Happy birthday, my love" I say. "Oh yeah it is. Thank you, babe. It's already the best birthday as my baby boy is being born today. Hopefully very soon" Charlie replies. So we wait a while longer, a few more hours till the morning for anything to happen. It's been a long labor so far but it's also Charlie's birthday too

Soon our little baby boy Jacob Charles Puth came into the world. When he was born, the midwife scooped him up and placed him on my chest. She didn't even clean him off of weighted him. She knew that I wanted to hold him straight away. "Ahhhh, Y/ N. This is the greatest day of my life" Charlie said. "I know. It's your birthday and your son now shares a birthday with you" I reply. "He does. Welcome to the world, my boy" he said. "Ahhhh, Charlie. He's amazing. Can't believe he's here. It felt like an awful long time. I'm telling you" I say. "I know it did but thankfully he's here now and he's gorgeous, Y/ N" Charlie said. A few minutes later the midwives took Jacob to clean him off and weigh him. He weighs a healthy 7lbs 10oz. They said that's a good weight for a newborn. We got to hold him a few minutes later when they had wrapped him in a blanket. Charlie held him and got to bond with his newborn son who he now shares a birthday with. "Hey, buddy. You're the coolest and you share a birthday with your daddy" Charlie said. "Awwww. You're already an amazing dad, Charlie" I say. "Thanks. You're already an amazing mom" he said sharing a kiss with me. So our baby boy Jacob is here and he's amazing. Charlie and I are in awe. We can't believe he's here and that he shares a birthday with his dad
