I made my way back into the dining hall, my sister leading me. When I saw her, my heart dropped into my already nervous stomach.

She was angrily banging her fist on the table, going full force on my now fiancee.

"How could you?! My own daughter! You slimy, evil, terrible man!" I guess the wedding planning parties were out then. he had nothing to say, but instead glanced at me and smirked. She turned on me, and I could tell it wasn't going to go well.

"And you! You leave with this man, and you don't tell me anything! He shows up on my doorstep unannounced, and I was okay with him protecting you, but this? This is unacceptable! Do you know how old he is?!" Her face was red from screaming at me, and she was gasping for air.

"Are you finished?" I was very angry at this point. "You're actually jealous, aren't you? You're green with envy because I got the one that you regretted letting go. You got stuck with that monster, and I got someone you haven't stopped talking about for years. I'm the one with the ring on my finger, so I suggest that you let it go, mother." That didn't help. Instead of more words, though, she turned and left.

"Does she know how to get home?" I asked. He just shook his head and took my hand. "She's always been so headstrong. I don't understand why she can't accept it." Turning to face me, he kissed me on my forehead.

"Just go up to my room. I'll find your mother and convince her to talk to you, and then I'll come to you later." For some reason, he smirked.
