Chapter 24: Falling

     The tile was cold underneath her feet. This hospital thankfully believed that patients needed a good view of the world, even from their bathroom windows. It was painted shut, but she got around that. The shards of broken glass stung her feet, yet she pressed forward, determined to be with the only person she had ever loved, even if it meant this. The winter air chilled her to the bone. After all, she was only clothed in a hospital gown.

   It'll be good enough for him, she thought, climbing onto the ledge. Thirty stories. She'd never feel a thing. 

  "I'm coming, Jareth!" she screamed as she took the plunge onto the asphalt below.
