I felt humiliated. How many people seriously faint because someone tells them that they love them? Not daring to look him in the eye, I mumbled an apology. He gave a soft chuckle and helped me up.

"Don't think too much of it. This isn't the first time I've seen it happen." He smirked and winked at me.

"Oh, now I know why I was so infatuated with you before! It was your outstanding modesty!" I exclaimed, unable to stop myself from laughing. "How many?" I asked.

"Oh, only about 5 times before."

"Did you really declare your love to so many girls that you don't bat an eye at this?"

Hearing my tone, he sudden;y became serious. "It was a very long time ago, Lauren. Don't hold a grudge. I told you that what I did was wrong and stupid. Do you want an apology?"

I stared at him, unable to seriously decide whether I did want him to or not.

"Don't apologize to me. Apologize to all the helpless, over-emotional teenage girls that spent their time completely trusting and loving you only for you to let them down."

With that, I ran upstairs and didn't stop until I flopped down onto my bed.
