In a month, Sora decides to go for Mum. She tells Nobu nothing,
because she doesn't want to endanger him. While he's gone, the girl
wears a sport suit and goes out at once. On a train, Sora sits down near a
window. She forgets everything, and in front of her there are pictures of
farewell with Mum. Her tears, her eyes, her words. Sora's hands again
start to shiver. Without understanding that she is talking aloud, she says,
"I am coming for you, Mummy."
"You always fulfill your promises," insisting, a very familiar voice
says, "and I love you even more for it."
Nobu is standing in front of Sora. He smiles again, sits down near
her and says, "I have thought that you would need someone's help. You
will take me with you, won't you?"
It is enough to receive these words. Sora needed this support, but
did not want to burden Nobu. She embraces him. But all the same she
asks one question, "How you have found out, that I will go?"
"You weren't acting like yourself. You started being scattered and
uncertain and seemed to be thinking about something that scared you.
You tried to hide it, but I noticed. I can't let you go back there by yourself.
You hardly escaped the first time."
The girl would not like to get off the train, but she should make it
for the sake of her mother. She leaves the fear here and goes on a
platform. Strong and assured, with Nobu's support, Sora goes to the
parents' house. Nobu did not expect to see a big and private residence.
Sora never told him that her family was wealthy but unhappy. The house
is a traditional wooden house suitable for Japan's climate. It has three
floors with a massive gable roof and a stone base. The central column
and thick beams make a strong skeleton. Its design is simple and
compliments its surroundings.
"What are you doing here?!" An old woman who knows Sora asks
them why they are there. "Isn't enough that your mother committed
suicide because of you?"
Sora faints. Nobu picks her up, and the old woman says that he
can carry her to woman's house.
In a couple of hours Sora comes to her senses. The first that she
hears - words of this wealthy old woman, "Forgive me, my child. I also did
not know what was going on in your family. I didn't know your father was
capable of this kind of behavior. I didn't know what he was capable of.
He's an animal, and he'll sit in a cage for the rest of his life. He made up
what he called traditions. I didn't know he could intimidate your mother.
Everything the family had belonged to your mother. But she never told
me anything. Child, we'll jail him." The pleasant old woman stops and
looks sympathetically at the Sora and Nobu. Sora silently and abruptly
leaves the room.
Sora feels empty, but the emptiness is soon replaced with fury.
She doesn't feel any fear as she starts for her parents' house. Nobu tries
to stop her, but she's clear about what she needs to do, and nothing can
stop her. Sora runs into the house and sees a horrific picture. Very young
girls in bathing suits wander through her mother's house, and her father
and brother sit at a glass table with several other men. White powder is
scattered across the table top. Loud music throbs. The house is lit
brightly, and it's filthy. Sora sees a gun. She gets it without thinking and
moves closer to the table. She points the barrel at her father's head. The
girls in bathing suits scream. One of the men grabs her and twists her arm
behind her back. Three men don't have time to put her on the floor
because Nobu runs up and kicks one in the stomach. He jumps and hits
another in the head with his elbow. Nobu takes a gun from a holster and
shoots the third in his forehead. Sora is free now, but her father hits her
in the back of the head, and her brother shoots Nobu in the leg. The pain
make Nobu lose his balance and fall. The men kick him in the stomach
and face. The last thing he sees is Sora's father pulling her across the
floor by the hair. She doesn't resist any more. She sees Nobu laid out on
the floor and thinks it's the end.
The girl occasionally hears that the most malicious person in her
life - the father – says, "Your mother suffered not too long when I
poisoned her. And all because of you. I told you that you already had a
groom, but you had all in your own way," he says sharply in an animal
voice.
Sora finds inside the last straight and says, "After all there was no
tradition of the dynasty, you intimidated and destroyed Mum that you
got all her money. You wanted to get rid of me, you had made the
brother become a drug addict who was easy for your control. I hate you,
and you will burn in the hell." After the last word, Sora receives a punch
on her head and she faints.
