#11: What if Jacques and Olivia Checked the Elevator in the Ersatz Elevator?

KLAUS POV

I walked up to Larry and whispered, "Have them check the elevator on the penthouse floor."

Larry stared at me. "Are you sure?" I nodded. "Then, I will get you that side of salmon immediately!"

OLIVIA POV

Jacques and I opened the second elevator door and used our makeshift grappling hooks to slide down to the bottom.

"Duncan!" Jacques exclaimed happily.

"Isadora!" I also exclaimed happily.

"Miss Caliban? Prufrock's librarian?" Isadora questioned, confused.

"And a random guy." Whispered Duncan.

Jacques smirked. "Don't worry. We both are members of a secret organization."

"VFD." The two now found triplets said in unison.

"Precisely. Now, to get you two out of there." Jacques tried to burn the lock off with his spyglass, but it didn't work.

"Wait," I said, pulling a bobby pin out of my hair. "Always come prepared."

As I started to unlock the lock Jacques asked me, "Did you have that the whole time?"

"Yes. How else do you expect my hair to look this flawless?"

The Daily Punctilio

The Quagmires have been found! The city's sixth most important financial advisor, Esmé Squalor was in kahoots with Count Olaf, disguised as Gunter, a foreign man. They hid the children her private elevator.

Jerome Squalor (not pictured) has agreed to continue to care for the Baudelaire children that he and Esmé are guardians of.

Another couple, by the names of Jacques Snickett and Olivia Calivban, are now caring for the Quagmires, along with their found brother, Quigley.

Quigley Quagmire was rumored to be living in late Dr. Montgomery's house. He has been found and has rejoined his siblings and their new guardians.

Jerome Squalor has already divorced Esmé and has begun dating a man named Charles.
