I can't believe it. She's dead. Kit's dead.
"No!" I heard Lemony cry out. He dropped to the ground, clutching his sister's dead body. "No..." He turned to face Beatrice. "Bea?"
Beatrice stepped back, horrified. Esmé was still with shock.
"You!" I exclaimed. I charged at her, but was stopped by my father.
Beatrice ran away, tears in her eyes.
BEATRICE POV
I've never forgiven myself for killing Kit all those years ago. I've taken refuge on the VFD island, cutting off ties with everyone.
I deserve this. I did kill my true love's sister, after all.
