Chapter 12 - The Missing Piece Of The Puzzle

Start from the beginning

"Just when I thought no one else could be taken from me, another would die. After that, I went searching for the Longbottoms whom were captured by Death Eaters, and friends that I was on good terms with. I hunted every Death Eater I could find, looking for information that could lead me right to them."

Sister An took a sigh. "I killed, no, murdered many of them before finding the Longbottoms, but I was too late. Their minds broken, souls damaged, I flew into rage and killed nearly all the Death Eaters there. Only five survived due to the arrival of Dumbledore. And you know the rest..."

Sister An couldn't help but advert her eyes from Vincent's, although she trusted him, she was still afraid of seeing the judging eyes of Vincent.

"...I'm happy that you told me," Sister An looked up to see Vincent with his smile. "Really, I'm happy in the trust that you showed me."

"...Even if I was a murderer?"

Vincent looked directly at Sister An. "If you're looking for forgiveness, you won't get any from me."

Sister An smiled bitterly at Vincent's words. She knew that what she had done, to murder so many people couldn't be forgiven with a few words. "Never expected it in the first place."

Vincent continued. "But I'm still happy that you told me. I feel like we've gotten closer."

Vincent looked at his hands. "For years now, you've looked after plenty of children, children that has had no place to call home. Me included. The you that killed plenty, even if they were criminals, is not the same as the one that's been looking after those children."

Vincent then looked up at Sister An's expression, the smile on her face losing all signs of bitterness. "I don't care what your past was like, I like the Sister An I've come to know and love."

"...Thank you, Vincent."

Arnya wheeled away before wheeling back with a tissue box which was received by Sister An who nodded in thanks. Sister An took a deep breath before nodded again to to Vincent, indicating for them to continue.

"Sister An...do you know who Sirius is after?"

"..." Sister An took a deep breath. She looked Vincent in the eye before answering. "Before school started, Sirius Black came to visit me."

Vincent felt surprised, but let Sister An continue.

"He said...he said that my brother is alive."

Frowning in confusion, Vincent asked Sister An. "How can that be? Sirius blew him up right? He even left a finger behind to prove his death. Not to mention, why would Sirius be after Peter of...all...people..."

Vincent's confused expression changed to one of realisation. "Unless, Peter was..."

"The one who betrayed the Potters, yes."

Vincent glanced at Sister An who's hands were clenched tight, turning white. He honestly didn't know what to say. Suddenly a thought came to mind.

"So Peter is at Hogwarts?!" Vincent exclaimed.

"My brother managed to keep the fact that he and his friends can transform into animals a secret," Sister An said.

"Animagus," Vincent felt the final piece in the puzzle come together.

"Crookshanks has only gone after Scabbers."

"I'LL BRING THAT INSOLENT LITTLE RAT TO HELL WITH ME!"

There was also something that Ron said to Vincent that seemed odd, but not worth noting.

"How long have I had Scabbers? A good decade or so. Huh? Why has he lived so long? We take good care of it I guess, I mean if Charlie can handle dragons, a rat shouldn't be too difficult."
