"Hey! It's that weird kid!" Someone calls out to me, "I hope you die in action!" Another person says.

Life is just the same, bullies just don't understand certain things. They do not know that if soldiers did not sacrifice themselves in the Second World War they wouldn't be here laughing at me right now. At least I have some respect.

I continue to walk home while ignoring the insults of people. There's no point in fighting back, wasting my time on them is not reasonable or beneficial to me in any way.

Arriving at my house I greet my uncle as he is watching TV, "How is school?"

"Fine, just the casual." I tell him. I go to my room and pull out my workbook. "Page 23, numbers 3-21, should be easy." I say to myself.

-10 minutes later-

With my homework finished I exclaim in satisfaction "All finished! Time to go behind enemy lines!"

I rush to my equipment box and pull out the military gear I am proud to have. Taking my school clothes off I put on my equipment, first the airborne uniform then the boots, last my M1 helmet. My helmet looks like it has been through a lot, it has served me for over 3 years and is still in good condition.

and a few magazines for it. I start walking to the door of my room but not before sweeping up my soviet gear as well.

My uncle turns his head at me "Looking good my son!"

After chucking about his remark I return to my room and wear my suspenders.

I attach my USP to the right side of the harness and make sure everything needed is with me.

"Dad, I'm off to the forest again. Should be back by midnight or 11 pm," I tell him, "and for food, I've refilled my flask and brought 5 MREs with me."

He waves to me as I walk out the front door, my equipment in my backpack making noises as I go.
