Ian sat in the gravel parking lot of June's Burger. It was a quarter past ten, which meant he was early; Ian didn't care. He needed to watch her, needed to know who she was on the inside. Did she know about her power? Ian figured she didn't. He didn't know much about her, but he did know that she wasn't frighten the other night when he banshee came after her. Startled? Yeah. Frighten? No. Persephone didn't want the child to be cast into the lot of Gods and Goddesses, but rather to be brought up with love and laughter, that much he knew. That was the whole reason she'd taken the child and ran. However, knowing that he also figured she hadn't told her daughter who she really was.

His mind went back to what Atropos had said as he was leaving, his clothing fading to that of his mortal clothes. "The power you hold is nothing compared to the power Makaria has within her, Thanatos. She can give everlasting peace or destroy whole worlds, tis her choice." She looked around the small county kitchen, her dark eyes shining with the setting sun. "I fear she'll find out soon enough where her heart lies. Terrible trouble is coming, Thanatos. You need to be prepared, as does Makaria. She needs to know the truth, and soon. Otherwise I fear all is lost, both for our kind and for the mortals."

"What the hell did that mean?!" he said to the empty cab of the truck, watching Makaria moved from table to table, a smile on her face. June's Burgers wasn't as busy as it normally was on a Saturday night, but busy enough that Ian knew that Makaria hadn't had a break since he'd been there. She took most tables while the other waitress stayed behind the counter to work in that area. Both girls were serving drinks, food, and getting things for the customers.

When Ian arrived, he had thought about going inside, but had decided it was best to wait. He needed time to think before he spoke to her. If he spoke to her. He didn't know what to say, didn't know how to bring up certain things, how to bring up their relationship or what would be their relationship. Would she even want a relationship with him? He knew she'd had a crush on him, but with how he'd been treating her, he assumed that crush was short lived.

Sighing, he shifted in the seat and happened to catch a glimpse of a tall man, in a white suit, walk into the diner. Narrowing his eyes, he watched as the gentleman walked in, looking around before he walked to the furtherest table in the back corner. When Makaria walked over to get his order, Ian felt his heart stop as the man looked up at her.

"Damn that Hermès..." he muttered as he opened the driver side door.

Getting out of the truck, Ian slammed the door shut as he marched into the diner. Denise looked up as the bell above the door jingled, but stayed quiet when she saw the fury written across Ian's face. Makaria turned around when she heard the bell, eyes going wide as she saw Ian marched across the crowded diner towards her. When he reached her, she didn't even get the chance to say anything before he grabbed the man's jacket lapels and hauled him to his feet.

Bringing his face close to the other guy, he snarled, "Outside. Now." He left no room for argument.

The other gentlemen nodded his head. "Well okay, but you need to let me go. This is a very expensive suit."

Ian didn't push him as so much as threw him towards the door. "Out," he said. Once the guy started towards the door, Ian looked back at a stunned Makaria. Her turquoise eyes were wide with shock as she held the menu to her chest. "I'm sorry. I'll be right back."

Makaria nodded her head, her brown ponytail bouncing back and forth. "O-okay..."

Reaching the door, Ian slammed it open and stormed out. Makaria ran to the door, watching as the two men before her started having a heated discussion. She felt someone come up behind, saw Denise in the reflection of the glass and frowned.
