"It's happening." She whispered to us.

She uncurled her tail and we gasped... because she was curled around a completely black egg.

Sky's POV

The egg had a small crack running down its side. The crack started to grow and split into many different cracks. I turned my egg so that the crack faced me and laid my head down so that the hatchling would see my eyes.

My egg finally split open and my light blue eyes met a pair of dark blue eyes and they seemed to shimmer with gold. She looked at me in a curious manner and I purred comfortingly. She yawned so I pulled her towards me. I fed her a small fish and then she was asleep.

"Does Toothless know?" Lagoon asked and I shook my head.

"He was captured when I realized." They nodded their heads in understanding.

"I can't believe you never told anyone," Peace said, "That must've killed you."

"It was hard. Mostly because I didn't want to leave my egg unattended, but I really didn't want everyone freaking out about it."

"Makes sense," Peace stated. There was a moment of silence in which we all looked at my little hatchling. I always dreamed of having hatchlings someday. That's what she is... my little dream.

"She's beautiful. What will you name her?" Lagoon asked.

A name! I forgot to think of names! Oh, Toothless. Why did you chase after a dream and leave me here? Why? Wait! That's it! Dreamchaser! That's what I'll name her.

I smiled and told them my decision, "I'm going to call her Dreamchaser."

Their reaction was immediate, "Awwwwww... That's perfect!"

I licked Dreamchaser on the head and curled my tail around her to protect her from the cold.

5 weeks later

"Mama! 'aback! 'aback" Dreamchaser shouted at me.

"Dream, I'm not leaving you. Come here." She waddled up to me and we stood at the edge of the cave. "I'm teaching you to fly."

"Reals, mama?"

"Yes, for real, darling."

"What I can no?"

"It's instinct, darling. You'll be fine. And if you fall, I'll catch you."

"Okay, mama."

"Dream, promise you'll listen to my directions and no chasing Fireworms."

"Pomis, mama. No chase Fiewoms."

"Okay, Dream. Spread your wings as wide as they can go."

Dream spread her wings, "Nows what, mama?"

"Now, jump! Keep your wings spread though and your tail fins open."

Dream jumped and she wobbled a bit before she opened her tail fins and steadied, "I do's it, mama! I's fly!"

"Now flap your wings as we've practiced!" She started flapping her tiny wings really fast, "Slow down, darling. No need to flap so fast."

She slowed her flapping and smiled.

I jumped off the cliff and followed her, "Okay, Dream. Now for the hard part. You need to try to turn left, away from me."

"Yes, mama. How's do it?"

"Instinct. Just try to turn away from me."

"'Way, 'way, 'way, ahhhhh! Mama!"

I laughed as she did a barrel roll, "Not quite." I looked up and saw that we were at another stack. I grabbed Dreamchaser and flew us back to the cave.

"Is we no-fly moe, mama?"

"No, we're still flying. We just needed to avoid the stack in front of us."

"Fly's moe, mama?"

"Yes, fly's moe."

1 hour later

"I's do's it, mama! I's tuns 'way!" I smiled because I saw that after probably the fiftieth try she finally turned.

"Okay, Dream. Now turn towards me. It's just the opposite of what you just did."

Dream straightened out and attempted to turn right. She managed to go left again, which probably would've discouraged most hatchlings but Dream just kept going.

23 tries later she did it. "Sees, mama. I's best flyo in wold."

"Yes, sweetheart. You are by far the best flyer in the world."

Suddenly, we were interrupted by Rose. "Sky! It's happening!"

"Oh my! Dream, I need to go! Head..."

"No's, mama. Me go with you!"

"Okay, darling. Can you hold on tight?"

Dream quickly got on my back and hooked her claws gently around the edges of my wings.

I sped up and followed behind Rose, "Wow's mama fast! Mama best flyo in wold!" Dream shouted and it made me smile, "Whese we go, mama?"

"We're going to go see you're Aunt Peace and Uncle Streak. You're about to be a big cousin!"

"What's tat, mama?"

"That's where your Aunt has a hatchling."

"I's go meet hatchings?"

"Exactly, but no playing with them yet."

"Okay's, mama. I's no play with hatchings."

When we arrived, we saw that one of the eggs had already hatched and the other was almost there. The one that had already hatched was a male.

The other one finally poked its head out of the egg and it was female.

Peace saw us, "Dreamchaser, come here. Come meet you're younger cousins."

Dream looked at me as if to ask if she should go and I nudged her forward.

"This is your younger cousin, Shadowfrost," she said pointing to the black male with a white spine and purple eyes, "and your youngest cousin, Stardust" she pointed to the black female with a white stomach, white spots covering her scales and indigo blue eyes.

"Hi's Shaowfost. Hi's Stadus. I's Deamcaseoa. I's you's bigges cousin!"
