Heartbeat

I wasn't a toy,
With whom you played.
I wasn't a toy,
To whom you gave love when you were in the mood.

I was a living creature.
I was once a part of beautiful nature.
But you made me believe,
I was a weed,
Who was stealing someone else needs.
That's the reason you crumbled me under your feet,
To make nature again neat.

I also had a heart.
But you told me it doesn't beat.
Every night I mended it.
Each day you break it.

The white walls.
The white bed.
The white sheets.
My skin was also white.
Have you seen my heartbeat on the monitor?
I listened to it every day.
But when you touched me,
On the monitor, you saw the straight line.

I wasn't glass,
But you had broken me at last.
