~~ A Problem Shared ~~

The couple shared a glance and a smirk, "If you pass by on your way back with your parents, pop in and we'll be only too happy to answer your question."

"In the meantime, let's go get you set up in your rooms."

Instead of magic however, they led the way out of the room before anyone could ask anymore questions. There was nothing left to do but follow them. They left the living room, which seemed to be on the first floor and amazingly soundproofed. The moment they stepped into the hall, they could hear the cacophony of sounds coming from the party room. Thankfully, they didn't head in that direction and were taken up a flight of stairs towards the back of the inn. Lowell and Brigitte led them to what had to be the third floor, bringing them out into a corridor that held only eight doors along its considerable length.

"You can have the third and fourth suites at no extra cost as agreed. Supper has been served, but Chef can whip something up if you're hungry. There's fresh towels and the hot water is always ready if you want to wash. And if you don't mind my saying, it might help your cause if you do."

Brigitte scrunched her nose to emphasise her point, smiling despite that.

"Also, magic has been nullified in all rooms, so there's no nasty accidents in the middle of the night. We hope you sleep well. If you need anything, someone will be downstairs at all times."

Brigitte and Lowell handed them their keys, bid them goodnight and left for the stairs they'd just used.

"That... was an experience," said Nyla with a chuckle.

"It usually is here, but we should get some rest and head out first thing."

They nodded at Bryce and L gestured towards the rooms. "Nyla and I will stay in room three, you two can take room four."

Bryce and Robbie shared an awkward glance, they seemed like they wanted to protest her decision. L narrowed her eyes at the pair of them before whatever reasons they were about to come out with left their lips, and both closed their mouths. They nodded and the group split up, headed to their designated rooms.

L unlocked the door and walked inside, she flicked on a light and smiled at the pleasant scene inside. The room was a suite, large enough to live in permanently should anyone want to; there was a living area, small kitchen, a bedroom could be seen through one door and what L assumed would be the bathroom through another.

It was decorated in light green and blue, like the landscape outside, white curtains hung at the windows and green carpets covered the floor of the living area and bedroom. L and Nyla had a look around to find snacks and drinks in the fridge. Neither took any, instead opting to take a much needed shower and get changed into something fresh.

When they were both done and laid out on the beds in the bedroom, they were able to relax. L didn't know if this would help them sleep, she knew Nyla wouldn't have too much of a problem but she wondered about Bryce and Robbie. They'd all seen and dealt with so much, and they had barely scratched the surface of the mission to find her parents.

L turned on her side and pulled her parents note and photo from her bag, along with the journal. She stared at the three things in her hands, physical connections to her parents. The blanket she'd been tucked in as a baby was stowed safely back in Lymasia, it didn't feel as strong a connection as the other three. L wondered whether it was because she'd learned more about her parents because of the other three objects.

Her thoughts must have delved too deep because the next thing she knew, someone was knocking on the door of their suite.

"Breakfast will be served in one hour, should you want any!" Came the sound of an unfamiliar voice.
