AJ Pov~

It has been hell laying in this bed all day and all night. Our parents insisted on staying with us so at least we had company. But it was still torture. Ever since I was a little boy I hated "resting" as the doctor and everyone else keeps badgering me to do.

If I was sick I usually tried to hide it from my mom because she would force me on bed rest and don't even get me started on when I brake something in my body from training, you would think I would be fucking dying or something. But I could never stay still, I eventually ran out my room and was on the go.

Now that i'm a little older you would think it would be a little better.

Thankfully it's the next day and we were finally get out of this shit hole. My dad was on the phone most of the night, catching up on how the other Mafia's were doing. What they needed, updates, and concerns. The things the Capo needed to keep up with.

My mom stood by my side as she held my arm waiting for my uncles to finish up the forms so we can head out. Raf was bandaged up pretty good, he couldn't really walk so he was placed in a wheelchair against his will of course, and wheeled out. Damien too, cause of his broken leg bone.

Marcio and I looked at each other and even though we didn't say anything we knew pretty soon that things were changing. Ales grabbed my hand as mom walked over to dad. As I looked at Ales she gave me a reassuring smile. "You okay?" She whispers. I nod my head. "AJ, what's gonna happen to us?" she asks tilting her head a little as she herself seemed to be pondering the question.

What was going to happen to us?

Before this we were just school kids, training, fighting, preparing hypothetically for something big that was going to happen. We were dropped right into this crazy battle, that we didn't even know existed and we were forced to be something that we had always pretended to be back home.

Now that we saw and felt the effects of this war we were consumed in, now that we were almost finished with it...where did that leave us?

When we returned home were we mean't to return back to those oblivious, stupid kids we were. Age is a literal number. Experiences is what ages you. Looking at Ales she has come full circle with figuring her power, strength and how to incorporate that into who she is as a person. And I knew she was afraid to give that up.

I was too.

"Not sure."

She sighs as Leo walked over sporting a major black eye from the fight the day before. "Uncle Niccolo is gonna drive us and our moms to the council. Uncle Adriano and Matteo are going to swing by the house, grab Aldo and something else and meet us there."

"My dad is actually allowing us to go to the meeting with the council with them?" I ask in disbelief. Leo nodded "I know dude, I was scared to question it before he took it back." He chuckled walking back out.

Ales and I walked out and we followed everyone down the elevator. Piling everyone into the SUV was a fucking task but we finally managed and we were en route to the council building. As I looked out the window, the throbbing pain in my side from the stitches, I wondered what my father had up his sleeve.

Matteo Pov~

I sat next to a silence and broody Adriano. His grip on the wheel seemed to tighten even more as we got closer to The Estate. "So you gonna tell me this secret thing you got planned?" I asked nonchalantly as we saw the house come into view. The Golden Gates opening slowly.
