" So, you throwing a party Feder? " Andre asks Greg.
He shrugs. " I have no idea. If we are, this is the first I'm hearing about it. "
" Are you excited to start work at the Ice Cream House today? " I ask as I take a tater tot off of my lunch tray.
" I guess. Are you? " Greg takes a sip of his drink.
" A little bit. I'm really excited for that opening spot in Donna's dad's job. I love helping out, but I want to get a little dough. I'm saving up for a car. " I wipe my hands.
" That's a good job for you. " Andre says as Braden walks in.
I wave him over. " Hey Braden. " I scoot over. " Want to join us? "
" Sure. " He sits down and looks around the cafeteria.
" I so can't wait till school ends. " I sigh. " I'm done with this place. I'm done with boring teachers and wanna be bullies. "
" Me too. " Greg agrees. He gets lost in his thoughts and sighs.
" What are you thinking about? " I ask.
" Probably Nancy. " Andre chuckles.
" What do you guys think of her? " Greg asks. Guys. You guys. I'm just one of the guys. I'm not considered a girl to Greg. Just a guy. A friend. He wouldn't date me. He doesn't like me. He likes Nancy. Not me.
" She's nice. " I say looking down at my tray. Braden looks at me with a raised eyebrow. I shrug and eat my food.
" I think she's hot. " Andre says smiling at Greg.
" Do you guys like her? " Greg asks.
" Yeah. " Andre nods.
" What about you? " Greg asks me.
I put on a smile and nod. " Yes. I like her. She's a great person. What's not to like about her? "
" Good. I'm thinking about asking her out. "
" Go for it man. " Andre encourages.
" Yeah. Go for it. " I repeat what Andre says even if it breaks my heart a bit.
