Emma, Olivia and Amanda had all gone back to Emma's house. They spent a while in the doctors room, with her crying into her friends' shoulders, and continuously repeating how fucked up she is.

The doctor finally came back in when everything had calmed down, and talked Emma through certain options and support she would be given at her age. Though it was offered, Emma strongly refused abortion, knowing that whatever happened to this child, it would always live a life of its with her or not

They all walked in the door, their hearts rapidly beating in their chests and hands shaking in anticipation. Sophia came walking into the kitchen with a happy smile on her face, completely blind to the glum looks on theirs.

She shouted joyfully, "Amanda! Olivia! I've missed you both!", and wrapping her arms around them both in an embrace, kissing their heads in a motherly manner, bringing a soft yet forced smile to their faces.

She then turned to her daughter, scanning her face with knitted eyebrows, taking in her puffy eyes and tear stained cheeks. Sophia immediately pulled Emma into a bone crushing hug, not daring to ask any questions at all.

That's one thing that Emma loved about her mother. The fact that she wouldn't ask, and would just respectfully keep her distance and show her love when possible.

After a comforting kiss to her head, Sophia quietly asked, "do you want to talk about it?", looking at the three teens stood frowning in front of her. Tears welled in Emma's eyes, and the other two looked towards her as she nodded, and led them all to the sofa.

"Mum, I'm so sorry" Emma sobbed, uncontrollably. She tried to keep it in, but the pressure of having to tell her was too much, and she completely broke.
"Whatever it is, you can tell me em, I'll try and understand" her mother replied, hugging her again.
"We were being safe, I-I promise, and I never knew this could happen" she stuttered, and her mum continued to look confused.
"what's going on em?"
"I'm pregnant" Emma cried, and her mom couldn't help but cry too, "we used protection I-I swear"
"Emma, how could this happen?" Her mum raised her voice slightly, sitting up straighter, and glaring down at her heartbroken daughter.

"The doctor told us that protection is always 100% reliable and in this case, it wasn't" Amanda explained, as Emma was too hurt to try.
"Well, what are we supposed to do Emma?" Her mum shouted again, "I thought I told you to be more careful!"
"With all due respect Sophia" Olivia started, "like Emma said, she used protection, and it failed unexpectedly"
"I'm sorry" Emma's frail voice spoke, her eyes pooled with tears.
"I know you are Emma! What use is that! I can't believe this!" Sophia continued, refusing to listen to Olivia's comment.

"Woah!" James shouted, as he ran down the stairs, "what's going on?"
His eyes immediately found his sister, obviously verbally beaten and hurt, and he went straight to comfort her.
"oh em" he mumbled, letting her cry on to his shoulder, "what'd you do?"

His question was aimed at his mother, complete anger in his tone, staring as if he was glaring bullets into her skin.

"What did I do?" His mother replied, shocked and upset, "ask your sister what mess she got us all into this time!"
"okay stop!" He warned, his teeth clenched as Emma's tears soaked his grey hoodie, "whatever has happened, you don't have the right to be like this, mum, and it's Emma's choice if she wants to tell me"
"Go on then em, tell your brother!" Sophia said.

"I'm pregnant Jay" her voice was muffled but her words were unmissable, obviously taking him by surprise, however, instead of becoming angry, he hugged her tighter.
"listen em, and mum, sit down" he ordered, encouraging his sister to face them both, "we're going to support you, even if Ethan doesn't, and it isn't your fault, I understand, but mum has the right to be angry. Mum, she's already going through enough, so at least give her a break"
"I'm sorry Emma" Sophia apologised, "I just didn't expect this life for you"
"It's okay, I know I let you all down." She spoke sadly.
"You didn't Emma, and none of us are going anywhere" Amanda spoke, with a smile.

Olivia and Amanda finally went home and they continued to talk through things, and a few questions about options for the baby did come up. Emma hadn't really thought of adoption, and always had the idea of keeping her baby, however, she thought it could be a lot easier for them.

"what about Ethan?" James asked, and Emma sighed in sadness.
"He's happy with Hannah. He doesn't want to be with me, and he surely doesn't want a child with me" she replied, with a shrug.
"He may be willing to support you" Sophia reminded, with a soft smile.
"I'm not telling him" Emma said, bluntly.

Neither of the pair amongst her agreed with this, and they both looked at her with confused expressions.
"Emma, he's the father" James told her, "he has to know"
"No, he doesn't. I can move away, drop out of school and find a job for enough pay to support us. He won't have to know" she told them, and they both nodded.
"I can get something sorted, and we can all move away, together" her mum suggested, and Emma smiled thankfully.
"So this is it. We're leaving and I'm having a baby?" She breathed.
"Yes, and everything will be okay" James told her, "I promise"

Later, Emma went upstairs, and instantly collapsed on to her bed, exhausted from today. Her eyes were sore from crying and her head hurt from the amount of stress she went through.

She couldn't believe what was happening.

She was going to run away.

While carrying Ethan's baby.

And raise it in another place, with the rest of her family.

Adoption was considered, yes, however after a short conversation on that too, Emma decided she couldn't do that to her child either.

So she only had one choice left, and it was oddly calming to know that she wasn't going to be in this fucked up town, with these fucked up people anymore.

The only problem is, who she'll have to leave behind.
