This is book 5 of The Point Series. Characters from the previous books will be in this story. See below for more reading recommendations.

Michael Bassett is worried his sixteen-year-old daughter is growing up too fast. As a part-time single dad, he is doing the best he can especially after Anna's relationship with her mother deteriorates. Suddenly his world turns upside down and his beloved town turns on him. He looks to his best friend, Bryan and his wife, Alison, for help. When he meets a mysterious woman and the rescuer in him needs to help.

Anna Bassett is in love and feels special. She is on the top and isn't prepared for the fall. Without her mother's support, her father unselfishly does everything he can to help her even when it means she has to leave him. Anna has to learn that she is not the only one with secrets and how to trust.

Maribelle Hughes is in hiding from the world. She has even hid the truth from her beloved father, Mason. She lives alone in her family's summer house on The Point. When her doctor tells her she needs to talk to other people, she opens her house to paying guests. When a mysterious man from Ohio appears one March weekend, she learns that everyone has scars even when you can't see them.

Ripped from the headlines, this is a story about fathers and their daughter, each one needing healing and friendship and love.

This song helped inspire this story.

This is book five in The Point Series. You can read it without reading the others, but it will spoil books three and four. I highly recommend reading Shadows in the Dark for the background on the Hughes family and Blending Christmas for background on Bryan and Allison.

The Point series is best when read in order.

The Point Series:

Shattered Hearts

Designs of Love

Resolutions

The Players

Shadows in The Dark (prequel)

Blending Christmas - cross over

I set this story in two locations: The Point and a small town called Turner Ohio. Both are completely fiction as are the events.

The Point:

The Point is a fictional unique stretch of land on the coast of southern Maine. It has one of Maine's most beautiful sandy beaches, but is surrounded by marsh and tidal rivers on the land side. The only way onto it by car is on the causeway across the marsh. It is a unique little world for the people who lived there year round and they are a family.

The population shifts from less than two hundred to more than a thousand during the summer months. This does not include the beach goers that come across the causeway each day all summer. As isolated as it may seem on The Point, across the causeway and three miles up to US Route One, there is a typical suburban town just outside of Portland. People from town come to The Point for the beach, but also for the best and freshest seafood.
