king of the shadows. part one

"Nothing, just bored out on deck." He complained, sighing carelessly. "Ditto." You agreed, slicing your sandwich in half. "Man, I can't wait to see my golden weapon. I bet you sure feel left out knowing that you don't have one." Jay teased, smirking proudly. You looked up at him and gave him a 'really' look. "It's like Sensei said, 'only time will tell'." You explained, mocking Sensei's voice.

Jay laughed, "Is that really what you think he sounds like?"

"Yeah, that was pretty accurate." You said, pleased with your impression. You heard someone clear their throat from behind Jay, and you looked past his shoulder. There was Sensei, stood with a unimpressed look on his face. "Ummm, how much did you hear?" You asked awkwardly. "Enough to know that you will be doing extra dishes tomorrow." Sensei answered, placing his hands behind his back.

You just stood there with your mouth agape, whilst Jay laughed at the inconvenience. "We're here." Sensei said shortly, before exiting the room. Meanwhile, Jay was still having a laughing fit in the doorway. You went to walk back outside, but not without shoving one slice of your peanut butter sandwich into the centre of Jay's face. Yeah, that shut him up.

YOU and the boys took slow steps towards the stairs, your eyes searching the sky. Powerful bolts of lighting crashed against the hard rock of the earth.

They walked towards the chain, realising that they had to climb it. Jay gulped at the height, "Heh, ladies first?" He said unsurely. You scoffed and attached your hands to the chain before pulling yourself up, then Jay, then Cole, then Kai and then Zane.

In a matter of seconds you had reached the top of the huge red punching bag, and you pulled yourself up before taking a stand. You reached a hand out to help the boys up, and they gratefully took it. You heard Zane's voice shout from below you, "We are being followed!" he warned, and you all peaked down from your position on the giant hanging bag. Below you, you saw the skeletons beginning to climb the chain, finally noticing the ninja.

"Let's go!" Jay exclaimed, being the first one up the chain. You and the others followed close behind. You all clambered up the second bag, above it being the nunchucks of lightning. Luckily, you all kept a safe distance between the skeletons.

Jay laughed out as he reached the top, "Ha! Alright!" he exclaimed, snatching the nunchucks from their place on top of the shaft. You also reached the top and heaved yourself onto the surface. There you saw Jay swinging the nunchucks around recklessly.

His little parade was cut short though when a giant mass of lightning struck the land between you and Jay, soon revealing to be the lighting dragon. He roared angrily, and Jay grabbed your hand, before jumping off of the baton. "Whoooo!" You yelled out, the adrenaline rising in your chest. The other three soon followed, coming in line and matching yours and Jay's speed.

Jay activated his wings, followed by you, then Kai, then Cole and then Zane. You glided swiftly and easily through the strong wind, soaring through the chilling breeze.

You soon slowed when you reached a busy forest, the ground drawing near. You landed safely on the surface, a smile growing on your face as you the feeling of success settled in your stomach. "We did it!" You yelled out happily, embracing the four boys, and they all stiffened but nevertheless hugged you back almost immediately.

"We're gonna have to camp, and to camp we need a fire, and for a fire we need sticks. Me and Kai are gonna go out and search for some, Cole and Jay, you try and find some salvageable blankets or some form of shelter. Zane, you can find something to dance to, we're gonna celebrate." You ordered, and Cole saluted you mockingly, "Whatever you say, Shorty." He joked, bumping your shoulder as he and Jay walked into the depths of the forest. You rolled your eyes in response. Zane nodded and left in another direction.
