An awkward return

Needless to say when I got back things were a bit tricky.

A lot of shouting was underway when we arrived back on earth, Thor was tenser than I'd ever seen him and looked like he was about to blow up. It only got worse when we stood on the roof of the tower and Tony looked just as frustrated standing in his rubber ducky pajamas.

I suppose time worked differently because it was the dead of night when we returned, Nat looked tired but her brow still held a firm crease, Steve stood next to her with folded arms looking wide awake in a white singlet.

Bruce and Clint must be asleep,

"What do you mean it was a last-minute decision?!" Tony threw his hands up as I looked at the ground to pretend like I wasn't here. 

"I could not persuade him" Thor thundered and I felt Natasha pull me into a hug, 

"Hey, you alright?" she asked softly 

"Sorta" I mumbled into her dark band T, she pulled me at shoulders length and squinted at me as I sniffled and gave in "not really" I choked and she sighed and pulled me into her again.

"Would someone care to explain why at one in the morning Sparrow is being returned home so unhappy?" Steve jutt into the bickering billionaire and the thundering god,

"She has been banished as per his ruling" Thor looked pained to say it as he glanced to me 

"What? what could she have possibly done?" Tony looked exasperated, 

"She got on a ship with Loki unauthorized-"

"Are you kidding?"

Thor's jaw locked "I do not jest with you about this" Tony glared and scoffed, 

"and why on earth did he think to banish her for such a thing?! I bet it was reindeer game's Idea anyway!"

"Father is very strict on who Loki comes into contact with, after his invasion here he has been informed that we would closely monitor him, that he would not come close to resorting to his prior ways, it appears the stealing of the ship has pushed the last button and now he has separated the two in hopes to prevent him from slipping up again" 

Thor sounded exhausted as he relayed the information, he dragged a hand down his face and I could see the dark circles under his eyes, I can't imagine how tough-talking to Odin would have been. But all in all, he sounds like a total tool!

"Is that why he's not with you?"  Steve rose a brow and I gulped at the thought while Natasha rubbed my back in gentle circles. 

Thor nodded solemnly, "he has been restrained in a cell until father decides what to do with him-if anything" he grunted.

Natasha clicked her tongue "this is bullshit, those two are inseparable-"

"Nattt" I whined trying to block it out along with my reddening face when Tony started speaking up

"Oh I know, but how on earth will our vote matter against the ruler of that realm and his son, our choice dies out immediately, as much as I hate to say it-for Sparrows sake- I dont know if we will be able to get him back on earth." Tony glanced at me as I sniffled.

Thor let out a long sigh "I will continue to try and persuade him but much like my brother he is not easily persuaded it will take more time than I would like to admit to barter for Loki's release" 

I swallowed thickly but nodded in the dark, If anyone could try it would be Thor.

I wriggled out of Nat's arms and pushed myself into thors chest wrapping my arms around him tightly "Thank you for trying" I murmured into his night tunic as his arms came around me in return.
