Dream's POV

I laid on my back, a thick, golden liquid soaking through my clothes.
Blood.
This was what was meant to happen, wasn't it? If so, I wasn't going to fight it. I smiled faintly, gasping out the words: "Congratulations, brother...You w-win." I closed my eyes, and faded into the nothingness of what I assumed to be death . . .

Blueberry's POV

It had been three months, andDream hadn't woken up. "Give it up, Blue. He's not going to make it..." Ink had told me that mamy times, but each time I would always reply, "Stop saying that! He'll be fine! I know he will!"

By now I was giving up on that thought.
I stared down at Dream's nearly lifeless form, biting my bottom 'lip' and looking away again. I couldn't bear it Each day he had just gotten worse. The color from his skeletal cheeks had faded long ago, now just a pale, sickly looking grey.

The sound of the soul monitor caught my attention. It wad getting a little faster . . . I stiffened, expecting it to go flat any second now. But, much to my surprise it didn't. Instead, I heard an extremely weak voice say my name. "B-B-lu-ue..?"
Dream was awake.
"D-Dreamy- I'm not asleep, am I?!-" I couldn't believe it. He was alive! I jumped up, running out of the room to get Ink and tell him to good news.

Thats when I felt someone shaking my shoulders, and my back resting against a chair.

"Blue, buddy...Wake up..." Ink. "Mm- wha-?" I sat up groggily, looking around. We were at the Star Sanses hideout, Ink standing overmy half asleep form. That's when it dawned on me.

It was just a Dream.

Dream was still dead.

And everything was still awful.
