Chapter 3

Ok! Feeling generous and decided to post three today! Hope you guys enjoy!

So apparently the hunting trip took longer then I expected, Daryl and I ended up sleeping in a tree last night.... I mean cmon all for a deer that could be long gone by now? I mean I do like being away from camp and especially my mom. But like ugh.

Shane's pov

I still had that kiss on my mind from yesterday... I mean what was I doing ? Why did I say what I said? Sure I've thought about kissing her a few times but now she thinks I'm in love with her. Am I? No I can't be she's my best friends daughter I can't do that to Rick even if he's dead. And what did she mean by me too? She's always wanted to kiss me? God this is so wrong. I can't ever let my guard down again. I can't do that. I know it's gonna hurt Harper but it's for the best. I'm going to try my best to ignore her.
Lori keeps trying to come up on me,
saying she just needs comfort I just can't sleep with her if my mind is on Harper, it's so wrong but yet it feels so right. I just know her and I can never be together.

Ricks pov

We eventually got out of the city and made it to the quarry at Glenn's camp.
I'm sitting in the back wondering if my family is still alive when morales yells out
"Hey helicopter boy! Come on out!"
I step out of the car and instantly see Carl and my wife Lori, then my bestfriend Shane. But no Harper. Oh god no. Not my baby girl. Carl then sees me,
"Dad!!" He yells running towards me, Lori has a shocked look on her face, Shane he has more shock and guilt on his. I hug my family crying embracing them. When I finally get stable enough to talk I choke out, "H-Harper ? P-please tell me s-she made it?"
"Yes! Harpers ok, she went on a hunting trip with Daryl, Shane said it was ok, so she did it she doesn't listen to me anymore." Lori said obviously irritated. The name Daryl though that's Merle brother, with my daughter I'm very unsettled by this.
I then walk over to Shane, "thank you brother"
"No need to thank me man, I did what you would have done"

Harpers pov

We did find the deer and shot it but it took off, which caused us to spend another night in a tree. Daryl is starting to see more blood trail which means we are close. That is until we hear screaming. Daryl and I take off in the direction and end up seeing our dear eatin by a damn walker!
"Son of a bitch! That's my deer! Think we can cut around it?" Daryl asked me as I noticed our whole group around.
"I'm sure we can" I said.
"Harper no! Not a good idea" Shane said.
Daryl started going off beatin the walker when my eyes landed on someone that looks like me dad.
"D-dad?" I asked tearing up.
"Yes sweetheart ?" Rick said trembling. I then let out a choked sob leaping into his arms sobbing.
"I missed you daddy, Shane and I thought you were dead, we had to leave the hospital I'm so sorry we left u! We didn't hear a heartbeat ! I thought i heard a faint one but we had to save mom and Carl!" I yelled out sobbing.
"Hey hey hey shh shhh it's ok, you did what you had to do to protect mom and Carl. You did great Harper. I love you babygirl."
"I love you too dad" I sobbed out as I looked at everyone. Daryl started yelling for Merle which got everyone on edge. As Shane and my dad started following Daryl I spotted Glenn. "Glenn!" I yelled running over and hugging him.
"Told ya I'd be ok" he joked.
"Good" I smiled back at him.
Daryl, my dad and Shane got into a fight, apparently my dad left Merle to the top of the building... wow I hope he's ok... yeah he can be a jackass but he was nice to me.
•Later•
My dad, t-dog, Daryl, and Glenn are going back for Merle. I wanted to go but my dad, Shane Daryl and Glenn all yelled out no at the same time which definitely seemed like I should just stay here.
They still aren't back yet, mom hates Shane for telling her dads dead when he wasn't, mom wouldn't even talk to me and she kicked me out of the tent saying there's not enough room for us all now, so I'm bunking with Glenn. We are all eating fish around the fire when Amy gets up telling Andrea she has to pee. I look over at Shane, he's been ignoring me all day, he even refused to let me clean his knuckles from beating Ed earlier. To be honest I would have let him beat him to death but the other women stopped him. Oh well.
I just don't know what I did, was it the kiss? Did I do something? Shane won't even look at me.
Before we knew it Amy let out an ear piercing scream... a walker got her. Soon there were walkers everywhere. We all got up some in frantic screams and some shooting. I instantly started shooting as my mom took Carl and hid for cover behind Shane. I rolled my eyes but atleast they are safe, she thinks Shane is some hero one minutes then hates him the next. As I was busy shooting walkers I didn't notice the one that snuck up on me, it knocked me to the ground trying to bite me, I started screaming holding the walker up as much as I could, but it was way heavier. Before I knew it a knife was plunged into it and there was Shane, my saving grace. He pulled me up and checked me for bites once he didn't see any he let out a sigh and hugged me tight. That was to close of a call. I started crying into his shoulder. I looked over seeing my dad comfort my mom and brother, looking frantically around for me. Once he spots me he lets go of mom and walks over. Shane starts to pull away when he notices Rick. My dad then dropped to the floor and hugged me. I don't think I've ever been that scared in my life. After everyone settled down for the night we all went to bed and tried to get some sleep before day break. I crawled into Glenn's tent and started crying, all my emotions just coming out at once. Glenn came over and hugged me telling me I should get some sleep. So i finally agreed with him to try and get some shut eye laid down closed my eyes, and before I knew it I was out like a light.

I know this is Rick and Shane, after Carl was shot, but just imagine it's Shane hugging Harper after she was attacked.
