"This here's my home," Sonic said as he opened the door to his apartment on the fifth floor. Shadow was behind him, staring at the road from underneath as they stood on the porch as cars passed and people walked. When he heard the hedgehog behind him click the door open, he turned.
"It ain't much," Sonic laughed. "But It's got a roof and a bed i can sleep in, maybe get fucked in if I'm lucky."
"Psh, that'll be the day," Shadow joked following the hedgie inside. He closed the door behind him once inside and set his plastic bag on the little table that stood next to the door. It had only three items inside: microwavable pizza, champagne and Sonic's surprise.
"So, whaddya think?" Sonic asked his boyfriend as he looked around.
The place was small and they were only in the living room. A red sofa was in front of a large flat screen tv that hung on the wall, a coffee table in front with a flower vase and a taped together controller sat on it. There were other things around the living room too, like images of Manic's band that hung on the walls and a book shelf with other items and books arranged on it.
"This place is great, and pretty clean too." Shadow commented as he walked around. He picked up a framed picture that had Manic and Sonia smiling at the camera. "You live with your brother right?"
"Yeah, he's a lot younger than me and is pretty into music." Sonic replied, there was a small framed mirror hung on the side where the living room met the hallway. Sonic looked at himself for the second time and when people say 'at the second time it gets better.' They weren't kidding. But his clothes didn't really match what he wore and he still had that bag of dresses in his hand.
Shadow was looking through some book that previously sat on the shelf before Sonic said. "You can look around for a while if you'd like, I'm gonna go change. these clothes aren't presentable enough."
"I think you look fine," Shadow shrugged, he was being honest. Sonic looked great in everything. "I'll start to get things ready and before you go- take this." Shadow walked to the small table next to the door where his bag sat and took out his prize. Sonic giggled at the sight of it.
"Shadow, why would you sacrifice your money like that i was only kidding!" The blue boy laughed.
"I know, but i take jokes too far sometimes." Shadow said handing the plush to him. "And plus it didn't cost too much."
It was a pony stuffed animal, she was blue with rainbow hair and wings. Sonic had to guess it must of been five dollars at a store like Walgreens but the gesture was nice and at least he'd have something to remember the day Shadow asked him out.
"Thanks," Sonic said with a smile holding the pegasus toy up. "I'll treasure it forever."
Shadow chuckled watching Sonic walk through the hallway and into Sonia's room.
