"That's the worst way to miss somebody. When they're right beside you and you miss them anyway.”

-          Pittacus Lore, I Am Number Four

“Hi, Matt.”

Zacky sat next to the unconscious vocalist, hands in his lap, unsure of what to do with them. He chewed his bottom lip a little, before murmuring, “I miss you a lot, you know. It’s different than when you and Jimmy went to New York for a couple weeks in ’06. I guess it’s harder, knowing that you may or may not be okay, that something’s wrong with you and we have to just sit and wait around for you to wake up. It’s been eight days now. We’re all counting.”

He paused, searching the older man’s face. “Arin says he had a dream about you last night. You and Jimmy. I wondered how he could dream about a man he never met, but I guess the fans do it all the time, right?” he gave a soft chuckle.

“Look, man, I love you.” He didn’t want to get all sentimental, but it wasn’t like the vocalist could reply or anything. “You’re my brother, and when you wake up, I wanna be the first to hear about it, okay? I-I meant what I said, Matt. You just… You mean so much to me, and I miss you more than words can say.”
