If you haven't noticed or know, I don't like the concept of One For All. It's basically used in the anime to hit harder and overpower opponents. This is also used the same way in a lot of fanfics involving Izuku receiving it like in canon. Just like the Bakudeku and Tododeku pairings, I hate it but for a different reason. Those two pairings including Bakudeku or Tododeku I just purely hate and like to see it burn in hell. Anyways...
It's not because people want to follow canon, no it's when its not needed or not used differently. It's always the same concept which makes the story quite boring especially when he has another power! I love to see a twist not the same copy and paste.
An good example is a MHA story fanfic on fanfiction.net called How a Strange Fruit Gave Me My Quirk. This story has Izuku getting the Gum Gum Fruit and One For All. One For All however would be substituting Haki since it doesn't exist in the story so Izuku can have his own unique version of Gear Four.
If you use One For All then do something creative with it than just it's original concept! Don't use it if Izuku is going to have an insane power or skill set. And I'm talking about Devil May Cry, Dragonball and Asura's Wrath levels of power. An overpowered protagonist makes for a dull story when used wrong.
I still won't be using One For All in my stories but this is my opinion on how I view the power when used in stories. That is all.
