Write Drapple fanfics. Nothing will inspire creativity more than animating an apple into sentience and then making Draco Malfoy fall in love with it.
Don't write pages and pages about you protagonist dressing up for a date.
If you see a good fanfic, don't go, "Hey! That's a mighty good idea. I think I'll use that and write the same story but differently!"
The whole makes-a-bet-that-he-can-get-the-girl-to-sleep-with-him-but-ends-up-falling-for-her-instead thing is way overdone.
Remember: if you have a REALLY good fanfic, it will almost go 100% unnoticed here because most people crave cliche shit. So do not be disheartened and KEEP WRITING!
