“Si, I don't want to put this off any longer. There's something I really need to tell you, and I need you to keep an open mind.” I took a couple big deep breaths before continuing “Well, actually, there are a few things I need to tell you. First, Maddy isn't my baby sister. She's my daughter.” I watched Sienna's eyes go huge.

“You were what, fifteen, when you got pregnant?” She was practically screaming.

“Yes, but I need to...”

“No, you shut up! I don't want to hear it. I thought you'd be a good mate for my brother but I was wrong. Silas deserves better than some whore who will spread her legs at such a young age instead of waiting and saving herself for her mate. What were you thinking? Do you even know who her father is?” Her face was red and I could tell she was too angry to listen.

“Sienna, you don't understand! I didn't have a...” I was crying and she still didn't let me finish my sentence.

“I don't want to hear your fucking excuses! Thank God my brother hasn't marked you yet, because then I have time to make him see that you're a dirty bitch!” The tears came flooding out of my eyes and I watched her run out of the room and out of the house. I backed up into the wall and slid to the floor. I pulled my knees up to my chest and hugged them tight as I cried.

(Silas's POV)

I turned into J.J.'s driveway as I saw my sister speeding toward the road. She looked pissed. My heart dropped into my stomach. I knew that that J.J. was planning to tell Sienna about her past and judging by the speed she was going, she didn't take it too well. I had to get to my beautiful mate because I had a feeling that she would be a broken mess. I threw my truck into park and jumped onto the ground already running. I didn't get the chance to knock because her gran whipped the door open with a solemn look on her face.

“Where is she?” I all but demanded.

“I don't know if now's a good time.” She said.

“Please, I need to see her. I don't know what happened, but I have a feeling that it wasn't good. I need to be with her.” I knew I was begging, but I didn't care.

“Upstairs. Second door on the right. All I'm going to say is that you better not hurt her. She's been through enough in her life already, and the horrible things I heard coming from your sister didn't make her life any easier.” She whispered it, but it still felt like a total slap in the face to know that my sister could hurt my mate like that. I couldn't believe I had to choose between my blood and my mate, although I knew that it was an easy decision. J.J. would win every time.

I took the stairs two at a time and quickly made it to the room that I knew my mate was in. I slowly opened the door to find her curled up on the floor reduced to tears. My heart broke seeing her so weak and vulnerable. I went to her and scooped her up in my arms. I carried her to the bed where I sat with her on my lap. Her head was buried in my shoulder and I rubbed her back as she sobbed uncontrollably.

“Shh, it's okay honey, I'm here.” I whispered the reassurance in her ear, knowing that nothing I said would make her feel better. The longer she cried, the more upset I got with my sister.
