I don't know how, but somewhere in our conversation Isaiah had convinced me to let him give me a half tour of this side of Atlanta.

Normally I wouldn't have went anywhere with a stranger, a guy at that. But I was trying not to be so uptight and afraid of everything. Being afraid was just not a way one should go through life.

Besides, we were walking, so if he tried anything, I could easily run into one of the busy stores and I had my protective weapons on me.

"So you're from Mississippi, huh?" he asked as we were walking down the crowded sidewalk. "I've been there before. It was kinda boring," he laughed.

"Yea, it's nothing like Atlanta, for sure. All of this is gonna take some getting used to for me."

"You may never get used to it. I've been here for as long as I can remember, and sometimes it still takes some getting used to."

"I may not stay here long enough to get used to it anyway," I said before realizing it.

"What makes you say that?" Isaiah questioned.

"Oh, nothing. It's just, my family moves around a lot. I've lived in a few different cities in Mississippi. I've lived in a few parts of Alabama, Texas for a little while, and now here I am."

"Dang. Why do y'all move around so much?"

"Just on a search for better opportunities," I said sparing the details of my dad, his beliefs, and his job.

"Well my city is where it's at. You'll be here for a while," he said confidently

"What makes you so sure?"

"Just take my word for it," he said, winking at me.

"So do you draw a lot?" he asked.

"Here and there. Sometimes I have sudden bursts of inspiration. It could last for a few days or a few weeks. Then I could go for months without drawing a single thing. It's weird," I said.

"Maybe you can draw something for me one day," he said.

"Maybe. But I don't work for free," I joked.

"You'll get paid, shorty," he laughed.

I don't know if it was just me overthinking, but this boy really kept reminding me of Malik.
