Since Sophie has established that she had found the one dress she would even consider wearing to prom (she hates dress because she's not like other girls, if you haven't noticed), it was time for Keefe to find a suit. Since this was what the trip to Atlantis was essentially about and Sophie kind of made it all about herself by finding the dress of her dreams, Sophie was willing to try her hardest to find the suit of his dreams.
And off they went, store window to store window, with each shirt and blazer being rejected by Keefe.
"Keefe! You're so picky" Sophie exclaimed after he said no to what seemed like the last shot in Atlantis. Finally, after about an hour of walking, Sophie and Keefe stumbled upon a whole store of suits! Keefe, ever the fashion icon, was in heaven. He looked through every rack and analyzed every manakin, trying to find the most stylish suit. After all, he was trying to impress a certain someone. As Keefe looked up at Sophie doing the same thing as him and cutely biting her bottom lip, he reminded himself that this certain someone was Biana. And that Sophie biting her bottom lip was certainly not adorable and maybe even a little hot, but repulsive and that she should get rid of that habit because it was distracting him. Yeah, that sounded right.
To Sophie, all of the suits in the Elven world were somewhat strange to her. They were all decidedly eccentric and most of the time seersucker and/or a wacky, bright color. She was used to the simple yet elegant black and white ironed suits that her dad used to wear on special occasions or dates with her mom. That's what was most attractive to her. So today, she was on a mission to find that kind of suit for Keefe, certain that he would love it. After all, his fashion sense was pretty much I-just-rolled-out-of-bed-but-I-still-look-hot and nothing said trying too hard like seersucker.
Unlike Sophie, Keefe didn't have a clear idea of what kind of suit he should get. All he was looking for was something even vaguely not repulsive like most of the suits in the Elven world were. Sure, Alden liked them, but Keefe much more preferred to stay in regular clothes, maybe maybe minimal color, and definitely not polka dots, like the suit he was marveling at right now. Still, as into finding a suit for prom, Sophie and her stupid little lip bites kept distracting him. It got to the point where he had to go to the very opposite side of the shop from her. However, the boutique wasn't that big so it wasn't very helpful. His eyes were just insanely attracted to her and making himself tear them away from her was a grueling sport.
Sophie's determines search finally came to an end when she spotted a perfectly normal (to her at least) suit on a rack she was looking for. There was only one, so she prayed that it was Keefe's size. "Keefe!" She gasped, proudly holding up the suit, "I found the perfect one!" Keefe, who had been looking at her for an embarrassingly long amount of time, was forced to look away from her when she spoke and then smile up at her as if he wasn't staring at her the whole time. Still, he liked the suit she was holding up and how it was so different from the others and, taking it from her hands, went to go try it on in the one dressing room in the entire shop.
Keefe changed quick and, even with all the added additions of a suit, was out in a few minutes. The whole time Sophie has been restraining herself from plucking her eyelashes, a nervous habit of hers. She was worried that it wouldn't fit him, or he wouldn't like it. To be honest, she was worried about this whole prom thing. Probably half of her life, or since she's known Fitz, she's wanted to go with him. A week or so ago, the thought of going to prom with anyone other than him would have shaken her to the core. And, now she was dress and suit shopping with Keefe and enjoying it?! Life is so weird sometimes.
Keefe seemed to make her forget all of that, though. When he came out of the dressing room in that suit, Sophie's breath caught and the world seemed to melt away. Her cheeks flamed as she breathed out her compliments and it didn't get better when Keefe flashed his infamous smirk at her while jokingly posing like a model. How in the world had Sophie not noticed how absolutely gorgeous Keefe was? Keefe's smirk got wider and slowly morphed into an admittedly cute, crooked grin when he realized what she was thinking. Just to spice things up a little bit (he wanted to keep her blushing) he went up to her, took one hand in his and his other hand on her waist and twirled her around.
Sophie started laughing and couldn't seem to stop smiling. Her laughing became a little more breathless when he dipped her, which also meant that their faces were only a few inches apart. Still, her smile did not disappear as didn't the rush of blood to her face that was still going strong. Together, they sprung up and chose not to mention Sophie stepping on Keefe's shoes. Still, Sophie knew that he noticed because of how loud he was laughing and, in true Keefe fashion, she knew he liked to laugh at her comedic misfortune. They seemed to be dancing completely different dances yet somehow they were perfectly together.
