"Foster! Wait!" Sophie didn't wait. She didn't even look back to see who was calling her, thought she could hear it was a boy. As soon as Sophie felt she was far enough away from Everglen she stopped running and rested. Sophie looked at her surroundings. She was in a park, with green grass and a sparkling little waterfall leading to a small pond. It was beautiful. Sophie sprawled out on the grass and began to think.

But then a loud voice disrupted her peace and quiet. "Sophie! Holy crap! You run fast!" Sophie groaned. She looked behind her to see who had ran after her. It was Keefe! "Keefe, what are you doing here?" Sophie was touched that he had ran after her but she honestly just wanted to be alone. "So," Keefe said, lying down next to her. "That cloud looks like Ella" "is that all you have to say to me, Keefe?" She turned her head so she was looking at him, "because if that's all I'm leaving, or rather, I'm making you leave." Keefe smirked. "I'd like to see you try." Sophie got up. "Okay, okay fine." He said, throwing his hands up. "I'm here to talk about Fitz and his new, um, you know what."

That was the last think Sophie wanted to talk about. "No! He has a new girlfriend and that's that! Okay, I never stood a chance against stupid Marella." Sophie grumbled. "That's not true! Fitz is just oblivious!" That made Sophie smile. Leave it to Keefe to make her smile even when she felt like crap. "I guess." Sophie went back to where Keefe was still lying and sat down next to him. "But you're jealous"

"What! No I'm not!" Keefe smirked. "I'm serious, Keefe! I'm not jealous of Marella!" "Sure you aren't" Sophie turned red. "I'M NOT!" She screamed. "Aw, is Foster blushing?" That just made Sophie blush more. She hated her tell tale blush. "It's okay, Foster. Just lie down and watch the clouds with me."

"That one looks like an alicorn!" "Nah, it looks more like a goblin. What are you talking about, Foster?!" Sophie laughed at Keefe's stubbornness. Keefe was always the class clown. He made jokes left and right, even if they were in a bad position. That was one of the reasons why Keefe was one of Sophie's best friends. "Hey Foster?" "Yeah Keefe?" "Are you sure you're not jealous of Marella?" Sophie turned red again. "I mean, Fitz does seem smitten with her, you have to admit." "Jeez, Keefe, way to rub it in." Sophie hissed back.

"And she IS really cute" Sophie moaned. "Not you too! Come on Keefe, don't say that!" He was right, Sophie was jealous. And she did NOT like it. "Kay, jeez, Foster, I don't like her!" He turned his head to look at her and she did the same. Then Keefe eyes lit up. "Lightbulb moment!" He said in a burst of excitement. Sophie laughed. Keefes ideas weren't always in line with the rules. "You're jealous that Marella is Fitz's girlfriend, right?" "No-" Sophie started.

"Oh yes you are, Foster, don't lie to me." Sophie turned red but couldn't object. "And Marella is Bianas friend, right?" "What?! Biana didn't tell me that!" Sophie frowned. How had Biana failed to mention that important detail. She'll have to talk to Biana about that later. "Well she is. And stop interrupting me, Foster!" "Well sor-RY" "Anyway, and I like Biana, right?" "I guess?" "Soooo!" "Keefe, I don't get what you're saying! Stop assuming I do!" Sophie replied, agitated.

Keefe sighed. "Do I really have to explain it to you again?!" He got up and started pacing back in forth in front of Sophie. "Yes, Keefe, yes you do! This is what happens when you don't explain it well the first time!" Keefe stopped pacing and went over to the pond. Sophie got up and followed him. "Keefe! Explain what you're saying!" Keefe grabbed a handful of rocks from a pile someone had put around the waterfall and started throwing them at the pond. Thank goodness there seemed to be no animals in the pond.

"Did you know this place was here before?" Sophie sighed. "Please stop changing the subject, Keefe" Keefe didn't answer, just went on throwing the rocks. The 'plink!' sound that the rocks were making as they hit the water was starting to get annoying. Sophie reached out and grabbed the rocks from out of his hand but he just reached over and grabbed more. So Sophie grabbed his hands then realized what she was doing and blushed. But she didn't let go. The sound was SO annoying.

"Keefe! Tell me!" "Fine! Jeez!" Keefe started fidgeting with the end of his shirt. "If you want to get Fitz back make him jealous." Sophie stared at him blankly. "And how am I supposed to do that?" she asked bluntly. Sophie could think of thousands of ways to get Fitz back: kill Marella (she had also thought of A LOT of ways to do that), seduce him, make Biana trap them in a room together until they kissed, et cetera. She was surprised and angry at herself for not thinking of making Fitz jealous earlier.

"By getting a boyfriend." "WHAT?!" Get a boyfriend?! Unless he was talking about Fitz, Sophie didn't want a boyfriend! "A fake one! Not a real one, don't worry! The whole point of getting a fake boyfriend is getting Fitz to be jealous and then fake breakup with your fake boyfriend to be real boyfriends with Fitz!"

It was a good idea, Sophie has to admit that but- "where am I supposed to get a fake boyfriend?" She looked at Keefe in askance and... was Keefe blushing? That was rare. "I'll be your fake boyfriend" Sophie nearly choked on her own spit and she felt her face go hot as well. "Ummm..." Was Keefe okay? "Are you being serious right now?" "Yeah" Keefe mumbled.

Sophie was skeptical. "What's in it for you?" Sophie was NOT about to trust the prank master. "Wellllll..." Oh gosh. Keefe was going to tell her some long confusing rant and expect her to understand it again. She would remember it, of course, with her photographic memory it was nearly impossible not to. But she would not understand it.

"Marella is Bianas friend and if you steal Fitz from her then Marella will come crying to Biana and Biana will come crying to me. It's genius!" Okay. That wasn't as confusing as Sophie thought it would be. "How do you know Marella will come crying to Biana? She could come crying to some other girl. You don't know." Keefe seemed to deflate. "But probably Biana." Sophie supplied, trying to make Keefe feel better.

Besides, Keefe was offering to help her. Who was she to turn him down? And it wasn't her fault if his plan fails. It may seem selfish but Fitz was worth it. "Let's do it!" Sophie said enthusiastically, grabbing Keefes hand once again and pulling him upwards to walk with her back to Havenfield, Sophies house.
