Sophie was filled with a warm sense of pride knowing that her plan was working. Of course, Keefe was the one that came up with it, but Sophie payed no matter to that thought.
Sophie's thoughts twisted in her stomach as she saw Biana leave from her spot on her bed to go over to Dex. If Biana liked Dex, that meant her plan wasn't working! Seeing Biana come to him, Dex shot up from his awkward position on the floor. Seeing the sudden movement woke Fitz and Marella form their trance, making them shoot up as well.
"Keefe?" Fitz asked, "Biana? Sophie?". He looked around wearily, sleepily almost. "What am I? Chopped liver?!" Dex huffed from behind Fitz. Sophie could see Keefe stifle a giggle, but Sophie's heart ached to defend Fitz. But she couldn't! Making Fitz jealous was beginning to become hard.
She noticed Marella staring at her with pursed lips. She really wanted to stick her tongue out at Marella, but decided that would be rude. But, she really really wanted to be rude and show Marella that Fitz was hers!
Instead, she took Keefe's arm and led him out of Biana's room. Sophie could feel the tension in her body fade. "What's wrong, Foster? Too awkward?" Keefe asked, smirking like always. Sophie was beginning to hate that smirk. She shook her head at him and leaned in close.
Instantly Keefe's confident demeanor struggled against Sophie's close proximity. His smirk faltered and his cheeks turned a flattering shade of pink. Sophie ignored it and hoped she didn't have the same blush as him. Instead, she told him about her plan with prom. She could see it in his eyes that he was slowly beginning to think she was a genius. Her inevitable rouge deepened and his inevitable smirk quickly became more prominent.
"What are you guys talking about?" Biana slyly asked. During the horrible moments when the terrible two (Fitz and Marella) were kissing on the floor, Biana was determined to look anywhere but them. So she turned her attention towards a much more interesting matter: Sophie and Keefe. It seemed that during those ten minutes Biana had managed to learn everything about them. Except there was something missing, something she couldn't put her finger on.
Sophie and Keefe jumped apart, but not before Keefe sent a wink towards Sophie telling her that they would go on with the plan. Sophie discreetly nodded back towards him with a small smile on her face. Knowing that someone thought her plan was good flattered her.
"Oh! Biana!" Sophie replied, still staring at Keefe, albeit, farther apart. He wasn't looking back at her anymore, but she was studying his face, which turned out to be quite interesting. She noticed some features she hadn't seen before on him.
The faint freckles that dotted his cheeks across his face like a barely noticeable galaxy on his face. His surprisingly long, dark eyelashes, longer than any boy she's met at least, and the way when he blinked they would rest perfectly on his cheeks and he would look almost angelic. He's actually pretty nice looking, Sophie thought to herself. She cleared her throat at her self. Er- I mean- Not too hard on the eyes at least. And then Sophie realized she was having a conversation with herself and stopped. This fake relationship stuff was truly making her crazy.
Apparently Biana had asked another question but Sophie didn't hear her, so now Keefe was talking with Biana. Sophie wasn't listening to what they were saying, but she saw Keefe smirk at her. Sophie's heart squeezed. It was selfish, but with all the time they were spending together, talking solely to each other, it was beginning to think Keefe's enduring smirk was reserved for her. She saw now that it wasn't and she hated it.
Fitz came walking out of Biana's room and slammed the door behind him, looking forlorn, like an abandoned puppy. Instantly her anger for him decimated and she forgot all about Keefe and Biana. She wanted to go over to him and hug him and melt against his firm chest. She knew she couldn't, but seeing him walk out of there without Marella gave her hope. Instead, she glanced at him with a question on her face. Whats wrong? But she knew it was Marella and it delighted her.
Fitz noticed her confusion, sighed, and slumped against the door. "Me and Marella had a fight." he told her, sadly, but loudly, to anyone who was willing to listen. Sophie was the only one who wanted too, Keefe and Biana were stilling chatting it up next to them, not paying any attention whatsoever. But Sophie was a good listener, and the need she had for him to say that he and Marella broke up made her a great listener. But crying from inside Biana's room interrupted them. Sophie didn't particularly care that Marella was sobbing her eyes out, but Fitz sure did, and he made a big deal of getting up and running inside so she could have a shoulder to cry on, though he was probably the thing she was crying about, and slammed the door behind him. Dramatic much. This loud noise even caused Keefe and Biana to look up from their intimate conversation. Sophie narrowed her eyes at the closed door in front of them.
Keefe came up and hugged her from behind, as if to remind her of the plan, but his sweet familiar scent only made her dizzy and distracted, but in a good way. She leaned into his chest, like she imagined doing with Fitz, only, it felt... different than she imagined with Fitz. More comfortable, safe. More like home.
