Sophie woke up again later in the morning. Again, she rolled over on her stomach so that she could see her alarm clock. It was 11:39. Sophie sat up in her bed and stretched, reaching both arms in the air and wiggling around in her bed. She threw the blankets off the bed on the floor and set Ella, her blue stuffed elephant, neatly on her nightstand. She wobbled into the kitchen yawning and saw Grady and Edaline looking out the window into her backyard. Sophie badly stifled a giggle.
Edaline saw her before Hrady and asked if she wanted breakfast. "I'll make you blitz embers muffins!" Sophie smiled. "YES!" She loved blitzenberry muffins. Edaline didn't bake as much as she used to but when she did it was like eating a bite of heaven.
While Edaline was busy mixing the muffin batter, Sophie set the table then went up next to Grady to look out the window. "That's a lot of toilet paper" Grady observed in what Sophie guessed what was little bit of awe and a little bit of annoyance. "Yeah" Sophie replied, not wanting to go into a whole conversation about how much toilet paper there was in the backyard. One thing she had learned about Grady was that when he was interested or annoyed by something, he would go into a long tangent about how interesting or annoying that something is. So Sophie decided to change the subject
"I have school tomorrow" it was a lame attempt at changing the subject, of course he knew she was going to school tomorrow. But still, it seemed to work. "I know! Are you looking forward to it?" Of course she wasn't " of course I am!" Keefe was a better liar than Sophie was, as was Tam, but Sophie could still lie even if she wasn't the lie queen.
Her imparter buzzed. An imparter was a type of phone, you could text, call, and play games on it, and for very cheap. Not that Sophie's family was poor. Her family was not as Rich as the Vackers or the Sencens but it wasn't not rich. She opened the text. It was from Fitz. Her stomach got butterflies. It said "come over!" Sophie smiled but her smile went away when she opened the next text. "You can meet my new girlfriend!"
"I just don't get it Biana, why would he say that? He doesn't have a girlfriend!" Sophie was lying on her bed in starfish position while Biana sat at her vanity with Vertina, the robot assistant in Sophie's mirror ready to console her. "Sophie, you're in denial. He does have a girlfriend." Sophie blinked a few times and sat up in her bed. "BIANA!" "What?!" "Why didn't you tell me he had a girlfriend?!" Biana sighed. "I only just found out this morning Sophie!" "Oh gosh. Oh gosh! Did you meet her? What's she like? Is she pretty?!" Before Biana had the chance to answer, Vertina interrupted her.
"Really, Sophie?! You can do SO much better than him! Like that Keefe guy, man, he is SMOKING!" "Vertina!" Sophie whisper shouted, "no!" "Fine. If you don't want him, I'll have him" Biana turned red "See, Sophie, Biana agrees with me" "NO! We are not talking about Keefe, we are talking about Fitz!" Sophie said, struggling to keep her voice down in frustration. "Grrrr, this is useless. I'm just going to go over to Everglen and meet Fitz's new girlfriend." Sophie said the last part in disgust. "I'll be there for you, Sophie" Biana said reassuringly "I won't" Vertina grumbled, less reassuringly. Sophie smiled at them, dertermined to look happy, even if it was fake. "Let's do it"
After ariving at the front step of Everglen, Sophie started to knock on the door but Biana stopped her. "This is my house, we don't have to knock." She threw open the door and sashayed in. Sophie admired her bravado or as Biana would put it 'pi-ZAZZ". Della was sitting in the couch to the right of the door and welcomed them in. Della was Fitz and Bianas mother and Alden was their father. "Hi, girls! I assume you're here to meet Fitz's new girlfriend" "You assumed right Della!" Sophie replied with fake enthusiasm.
Della led them through a corridor into the living room where Keefe was sitting. It was no surprise since Keefe practically lived at the Vackers because his home was broken. Or at least, that's how Keefe referred to his home. "Hi, Keefe!" Biana and Sophie both said at the same time. Biana whirled around "JINX!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10! YOU OWE ME A SODA!" "Biana!" Della scolded, embarrassed. But Keefe and Sophie were laughing their butts off. S
Still laughing Sophie made her way over to the couch Keefe was sitting on and took a seat. Biana was blushing furiously. Surprisingly Keefe did not seem to notice. As soon as the laughter died down Biana said "You still owe me a soda, Sophie" and Keefe and Sophie started laughing all over again. Then Fitz came in holding the hand of an admittedly beautiful girl and the mirth immediately turned into awkward silence.
"Sooooo... this is my girlfriend, Marella." Sophie's stomach clenched, as did her fists. She was jealous. Sophie looked at Biana and then at Keefe to see their reactions. Biana was anylizing her, like she was judging her. She probably was, Biana tended to do that to new people she didn't know. Keefe was smirking at Fitz and the two boys seemed to be having a conversation without words.
Usually Sophie prided herself with breaking the ice but this time all she could do was stare noncommittally at Marella like a wide mouthed idiot and secretly plot how to kill Marella inside her head. That's how mad she was.
Sadly though, her murder fantasies were interrupted by a sweet sounding voice saying "Hi! I'm Marella! Nice to meet you" and a hand sticking out for a handshake. But determined to not like Marella, she gave her a high five instead. Thankfully, Sophie was not the only one who did not give her a handshake. Biana waved at her shyly and Keefe just nodded at her.
Marella went over to Fitz and whispered something in his ear. Fitz took her hand. Sophie looked away. "I think I'm going to go home now" Sophie told Biana. Biana nodded and squeezed Sophie's hand to show that she understood. Sophie got up and didn't even acknowledge Fotz and Marella when she walked past them to the door. As she walked out the door she heard footsteps running after her but she didn't look back.

AHHHHH!!!! I am severely underestimating fanfiction writers. Some of them have stories that have 60k+ words!!!! Just writing 2k words was hard!! Also, I am not one of those writers who care about reads and reviews and stuff. I am writing for myself not to be famous or whatever. Sooooo yaaaa... Also I do NOT ship Marella and Fitz! I was just struggling to come up with a name cuz I suck at making up characters so me and my weird little brain said "oh! Why not make Fitz date a person that's already created!" And Marella was the only this that came to mind. So yaaaa...
