Chapter 9: I'm Moving Forward

Start from the beginning

Luxis' eyes roamed around and up the building, as he tried to measure each statue that stood on the corners eventually forming a marred hexagon. He concluded it was around 80 feet when Beatrix, his dark-blue haired classmate, raised her hand and asked what's in his mind. "How tall are these statues then?" She kept her hand up until she was told by their adviser, Chameleon, to put it down.

"Each one of these pillars stood 98 to 105 feet, so thinking of the real ones, they are a thousand feet tall." The students, even knowing some facts about the legendary edifice, gasped to the information provided. Luxis had the same reaction but only calmer than his classmates as he tried to take as much information as his eyes could get: the labyrinth carvings on each structure that seems to be very distinct on each one. "The six of them controls the equilibrium of Nú as they were revered as gods by our human ancestors. They protect this world from the other planets, maintaining the strength of a barrier manifested to keep outsiders from invading."

"Why would outsiders invade Nú?" Beatrix asked one more time with her hands raised again. The tour guide seeing the curiosity from one of the students made her smile.

Lyre read the nameplate of the bob-cut-blue-haired girl and replied, "Just like what you have Ms. Beatrix, curiosity already existed thousand years ago but a curiosity being not in check may turn into something worst; hunger."  The last word seemed to serve as a switch that the whole place started to dim and a holographic image of three orbs appeared on top of them; these are the three planets, one they all knew so well. "Science have taught us that Euryphaessa, our sun, has three planets revolving around it and among them, Nú is the only world that sustains life." Suddenly, the orbs grew larger as they have now their own orbits and a sun which they revolve. "That's not the case thousands of years ago. Tit'n and Mërva, the other two planets, were rich in life, too. Tit'n, the closest to the sun, was the home for the giants called Titus." The hologram began to magnify the brown and red orb until everyone saw the inhabitants of the planet. Their world consists of only two things, mostly hot steaming lava and humungous dead mountains. "Thousands of years ago, these giants are known for its sheer force and strength which they were also called the Destroyers. It's said that they have created those mountains by stacking rocks formed from dried-up lavas."

The class 1-Alpha seems very caught in Lyre's little history-telling even when this has been taught from their early years. The visual representation which made everything looked so real has been the major factor why the students are so hooked even if this has just been a retold version. "Homing the Merians, a race of technological advance and intellectual individuals, the Mërva was the second planet after Tit'n." The first orb detracted and the second one expanded as the next planet was filled with gray and indigo smog. "Because of their hunger for knowledge and advancement, the Merians began exploring anything outside their world and they found the planet after them; our planet." The second orb deflated as the last one amplified, being the most pleasant and beautiful among the three. The planet was a bright green and blue colour with mists of soft white swirling around it. "They saw how gorgeous Nú was, they started to become envious. However, their love of nouveau things trumped it so they paid the planet a visit." A silver disc-looking object landed on the orb as a miniature representation of Merians walked out of their ship. They were the sophisticated lot; long pointed ears, pale complexion that perfectly blended their silver-coloured hairs that touched the tip of their silk robes that were brushing the grasses of Nú. "They were welcomed by our people but little did they know, that their guests have a murky intention. Dozens of Merian warships emerged from the sky and sooner the planet was being bombed; hence, the start of the first war."

Everything was chaos: explosions everywhere, warship guns shooting humans as they tried to run away and save themselves. The students fell silent as they focused on the scene happening above. It was clearly their first time seeing a reimagined version of the first war as most of them just heard it while few have only glanced it through paintings of famous painters. "This was when the Six Strongholds came to the rescue." The Pillars of Hexagon began to descend from the sky ejecting the six majestic looking humans, emitting a strong aura that wooshed the audience slightly. It was the Strongholds and even if it's just the six of them, they have managed to destroy most of the warships while the remaining ones started to retreat. "That was the very reason that the Strongholds created a barrier that closed Nú from the other worlds. It was meant to protect the planet from the outside, the perfect defence." The swirling mist around the planet began to spread around the sphere it turned the previous bright green and blue orb into a plain glowing white.
