It was Thursday morning when Luxis was walking through the humungous golden gate of the QU. It was past three days when he started going into this university and he still can't believe that he was a step closer towards his dream. As the sweet smell of the blossoms of magnolias lingers around his nostrils, he thought of all the things that the class has already covered. Spending five hours each day in the past three days, he believed that they have already gone through and learned a lot.
He remembered the last stunt he accidentally did during their last rugby session where everything around him seemed to stop as his body was enveloped with little lights. During their special classification period yesterday, he tried to talk to Graywind about it; however, he didn't get a chance to do so as almost half of the class belongs to the elemental group. In his faction, they were asked to discover more about themselves by overusing their vis into the extent that there will be nothing left from them. He reminisced how he spent the last five hours running like stupid until his feet gave up on him, but he can't do it again; no fireflies-like enveloping his body, no time-stop around him, nothing but just an ordinary human running as fast as he can on a track-field.
"What's up, man!" Luxis, slightly startled, stopped his cogitation when Novo brought him back to reality. "In deep deep thoughts? Careful you might drown."
He looked back at his skin-headed friend. "H-hey Novo." Luxis slightly stiffened when his friend placed his hand over his shoulder.
Novo noticed his friend's uneasiness so he shook his friend and chuckled.
"Always the shy-type, huh? I shall call you Timid Luxis from now on. How's your training went?"
As Luxis belonged to the Elemental faction, Novo was on the Alchemist. "It was okay. Yours?" He answered as he tried to shook off all the stupidity that he did during the special classification period.
"Oh don't ask about it. You know that Crass and Glace are on my faction, right?" Luxis just nodded as Novo sighed, then continued. "You remember they have this little tension between them before the teachers came in, right? Men, those guys are OP they almost kill each other."
"OP? They fought on your period?" Luxis asked with a lilt of disbelief in his tone.
Novo nodded rapidly, "Yes! And good thing though that Pointshot has stopped them by shooting them with some needles with a sleeping formula in it and I believe they were brought to detention because of what they did. So what happened to all of us who were left in the training room? Well, we learned nothing for the next 3 hours of the period!" He ranted as he removed his hand over Luxis' shoulder.
Luxis looked at the ground and smiled a little. He then realized that at the very least, he did something productive yesterday compared to Novo's faction although he knew that his friend's group-mates were stronger than him, anyway. Among the class, he knew that he was the weakest link and he wanted to work hard to catch up to everyone. His contemplation was then disrupted when he hit someone.
He looked up to see who he banged and a pair of brown, narrow eyes bored unto him. "Watch where you're walking, human lamp!" Toniteus shouted which made Luxis shrieked a little.
"I... I'm sorry Toni, its just..." Luxis stuttered as his skin-headed friend appeared between them.
"Bro, chill. You don't have to shout. You know Luxis is a little timid ---"
"We went on the same high-school you, bald-head!" He replied, still yelling.
Novo's face began to flush as he raised his head to match Toniteus', "What did you just say, huh?"
