The Science of God

"To know that what is impenetrable to us really exists, manifesting itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty which our dull faculties can comprehend only in their primitive forms - this knowledge, this feeling is at the center of true religiousness."

- Albert Einstein (The Merging of Spirit and Science)

The universe,
With its star tiped fingers holds everything in place.

The moon,
Round and full,
Embraced by the stary palm in the sky,
Holding it firmly in place.

I see stories in the paintings of the night,
I place wishes on the falling fingernails we call shooting stars
And there I found you.

Scoping up prayers,
Holding them close to your heart,
Treating human hearts like art,
Placing them in the gallery of your memories,
I'm sure you visit them even long after we have forgotten the faces that once held them.

The earth,
A child of creation,
With oceans that kiss shorelines,
Volcanos that burst like mountains placed on landmines,
Trees that wave with the slap of a breeze,
Skin covered in flowers and grass
And there you found me,
Praying on bended knees,
Asking you to marry my pain
And take it away from me.

I do believe there is a God,
I believe that the heavens are more than just a celestial paradise for planets,
I believe that somewhere out there in the vast void,
There is a God,
I believe that down here within the chorus of heart beats and the sympathy of prayers,
There is a God reaching out to hold us.

If time is passing,
I believe he is the one that grades it.
That the world is a class room
And every storm cloud is a lesson,
Teaching us that its okay to fall
Because only when the ground is soaked in your essence can you begin sprout,
So let's grow.

I believe he filled my rib cage with music
And I play it every day through the melody of laugher.

I believe he put tectonic plates on my tongue
And every time I speak I can almost hear those mountains move.

Yes I believe in God.
