Did She Get Sick?

Dae was an early bloomer on all aspects of puberty except her period. The other elements of puberty began when she was around twelve. This made her more mature-looking at a young age, however, her period seemed unfeasible.

Her lack of a period never made an appearance in any of Dae's conversations: she was too embarrassed to speak of it to her fathers. Dae convinced herself that she would bring it up to Twice when they were in visit, but this was not realistic regarding the unpredictability the female anatomy has. She was also sure that Stray Kids wouldn't know a thing even if she did confront them, therefore she decided harshly against it. Her ignorance for preparation reached no ends: didn't request pads, tampons, or painkillers in passing when discussing grocery lists.

However, Dae's regrets came into fruition when a dark red stain formed on her lightly colored underwear.

Swearing lightly under her breath, she placed her hands into her head. "Out of all days, it had to be today?"

Instead of politely informing Stray Kids of her adolescent progression, Dae shoved an overwhelming amount of toilet paper in her underwear and continued with her morning as if it were normal.

Her routine for today's type of heavy-training was a two-hour intense workout session, then sparring until she could barely stand. After, she would have some sort of fruit (Dae almost always goes for a smoothie), and relax the rest of the day.

However, Dae didn't understand the severity of cramping. It was different for every woman, she was aware of that. Though she didn't know how absolutely painful they can get.

About an hour into her workout, Dae's lower abdomen began to feel an exponential amount of pain. She believed it was the sore feeling that she would usually receive when working out this way.  Because of this, she refused to ask for help until the pain felt unbearable.

"I need a break!" Dae shouts suddenly, dropping the thirty-pound weights in her hand.

"What? You're not done yet, are you?" Jisung sourly questions. "There's no way you're done. Get back to work."

Dae was crouched on the ground, holding her stomach tightly. "Jisung, I'm serious," She whined.

Jisung opened his mouth to retaliate before Changbin cut him off.

"What's going on?"

Dae doesn't respond verbally, instead she run to a nearby bush. She began to regurgitate every ounce of food remains left in her stomach. It was then both Jisung and Changbin understood her state of illness.

They both begin to run towards Dae, though Jisung reaches her first. He grabs her shoulders to steady her, but Dae instead leaned into his touch.

"Are you alright?" Jisung urgently questioned.

"It hurts. It feels like it's being ripped to shreds." She whimpers out, continuing to hold her stomach.

"Let's get you home, so you can see I.N."

Dae nods her head, and they quickly lead Dae back to the house. Changbin rips open the door to see Chan and Hyunjin in the living room, watching TV. They both turn their heads robotically, and their expressions turn similar shades of worry.

"Did she get sick?"

"Yes, but I don't know the severity. I want Jeongin to take a look."

"I.N!" Chan shouts. Almost immediately, the door to Jeongin's office swings open. He swiftly enters the living room and right away understands why he has been called.

"From the way she's holding her stomach, it might be food poisoning. I'll give her a quick examination, but I'm almost certain that's what's wrong."

"I know what's wrong with me." Dae moans agonizingly.

"You do?" Jisung quickly responds. "Why didn't you say sooner?"

"It's just embarrassing," She comments, refusing to make eye contact.

Jeongin pieces everything together first. "Oh! Darling, there is no need to be embarrassed about that. I promise."

Bit by bit, everyone else seemed to understand Dae's condition. The 'Oh' sounds filling the room confirm this.

"Dae, you should have told us. I obviously don't know how it feels, but I'm under the impression it's dreadful."

Jeongin gave Dae some painkillers, and Chan took her to the store for the rest of her feminine products. Chan also believed some family bonding was necessary and took her out to eat at a restaurant of her choosing.

From this point forward, her period would be an extremely normal and casual topic to talk about. Jeongin added it to his calendar; knowing exactly when to restock on her medication and products. Dae's period would be something she wasn't embarrassed about; she even joked about the subject with the rest of her members.
