CHAPTER THIRTY- SEVEN

I rolled my eyes for what felt like the eighteenth millionth time and repeated my words again.

"Yes Mum, I'll be fine." I sighed.

"Are you sure?" She asked in her best stern voice.

"Yes." The line went silent for a moment and I knew she was probably trying to work this out in her head. Trying to work out a million reasons why I couldn't go.

Did I even want to go? Well, Caleb's going to be there so... YES. OK, so I know I should be trying to get over him but you don't just get over some one in a few days. These things take time. "Mum, if it's my safety you're worried about then, you know that Caleb's mum is going to be there."

I am not going to heaven for this.

Number one rule, my mum taught me: Never lie. Especially to her.

Only, I was breaking two of those rules.

Lucky her.

"I know." She sighed. No you don't. Honestly, why didn't she just call Helen to ask? Because she trusts you idiot. Ugh, guilt. I've never really lied to her. I bit down on my lip and played with the cord on the phone.

I heard a low chuckled and half spun around to find Caleb leaning casually against the wall and grinning at me. He raised an eye brow causing me to make my heart hammer.

"Are you sure that you're going to be fine though?"

I snapped out of my daze of staring at Caleb, my cheeks started to burn a red. "Yes Mum."

"It's not that." She muttered. "Im worried about you being stuck there with three boys."

My cheeks started to really heat. I ducked my head slightly and peaked at Caleb to see his smile widen. OK, so he did hear.

Does she have to shout when shes speaking to me!?

"Mum." I mumbled, "You know Sams going to be there... And Helen..."

OK, no Helen. But still, Sams going to be there!

"I know that Helen's going to be there hunny but Sam... When it comes to boys...she doesn't really have her head on straight." OK... that was true as well.

"Its going to be fine." I tried to reassure her.

"Look honey I know that when he comes to a certain someone-"

And with that, I hung up.

I stared at the phone while breathing in deeply, "OK time to go!" I exclaimed.

I started for the door but Caleb grabbed my hand. "You just lied to your mum."

"Very observant." I muttered. Don't ask, don't ask, don't ask....

"Why did you hang up on your Mum when she said something about a special someone?" I looked up to find him wiggling his eyebrows.

"It's no one." I blushed.

He frowned. "Did you tell her about Aiden? Because you know that he's not coming. It's just going to be me, you, Sam, Oliver and Mason."

I liked the first two names of that sentence. Me and you... A roast trip alone with Caleb... My imagination spun. If only.

I gulped down the lump of spit stuck in my throat. Hot, I know. "Have you talked to Aiden since last night?"

"Nope." He said, letting the P out with a pop.

Since last night I've been feeling guilty as heck. OK so you know how I moved away from the kiss.. I didn't regret it or anything. I don't know why I even went on that date. I guess it's nice to know that there's someone out there who wants you.
